Quebec is reporting 22 more deaths linked to COVID-19 on Thursday and 93 fewer hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

Health officials say there are currently 1,902 people in hospital with COVID-19 after 120 patients were admitted in the past 24 hours and 213 were discharged.

The province says 124 people are in intensive care, a decline of five from the day before.

The health department is reporting 2,055 new COVID-19 infections that were identified using PCR testing, which is limited to high-risk groups, and says 9.8 per cent of tests analyzed Wednesday were positive...

Public health officials say 68 fewer Quebecers are in hospital to be treated for COVID-19, a remaining total of 1,834 people.

Intensive care admissions are down by five, for a total of 119 people receiving care.

Of the new hospitalizations, six are under the age of four (an age group not eligible for vaccination) and one is between the ages of five and 11.

An additional seven people under the age of 59 and 13 aged 60 and older are unvaccinated or received their first dose less than 14 days ago.

Three people under the age of 59 and three aged 60 and older have one dose of vaccine, while nine people under the age of 59 and 11 aged 60 and older received their second dose of vaccine more than seven days ago.

Eight people under the age of 59 and 43 aged 60 and older received their third dose more than seven days ago, while eight have unknown vaccination status.

Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé points out vaccination does not completely prevent infection, but it does decrease the risk of dire consequences.

The province's health officials also confirmed 23 more deaths, a total of 13,835.

The number of active infections is now 24,114, with 926 outbreaks...

MONTREAL — Quebec is reporting six further deaths attributed to COVID-19 and a 45-patient drop in hospitalizations today.

The Health Department says 1,789 patients are currently in hospital, with 120 of those listed in intensive care, an increase of one.

The province is also reporting six further deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Health authorities say there are 1,736 new COVID-19 cases based on PCR testing limited to certain groups, with a test positivity rate of 9.2 per cent.

According to the Health Department, 91 per cent of Quebecers five and older have received one dose of vaccine, 86 per cent have received two doses while 50 per cent have received a booster dose...

Quebec adds 3 new COVID-19 deaths as hospitalizations rise

Quebec has reported three new deaths tied to COVID-19 as the province entered a new phase of reopening Monday.

Pandemic-related hospitalizations stood at a total of 1,776, an increase of 18 from the previous day. Of those patients, 119 were in intensive care units, an increase of five.

In the last 24 hours, 101 people were admitted to Quebec hospitals while 83 were discharged.

It’s the first net increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the province since Feb. 13, when health officials reported a rise of 14 patients.

The province reported 1,064 new cases as part of its daily tally. This number, however, does not accurately reflect the situation since official PCR screening sites are limited to certain groups...

Pandemic-related hospitalizations stood at 1,742, a decrease of 34 compared with the previous day. This includes 107 patients in intensive care units, a drop of 12.

Health officials say 101 patients were admitted to hospitals across the province in the past 24-hour period, while 135 left.

Quebec saw its hospitalizations drop again Wednesday as the province recorded 17 new deaths linked to COVID-19.

The daily tally accounted for a total of 1,672 pandemic-related hospitalizations, a decline of 70 from the previous day. This includes 102 patients in intensive care units, a fall of five.

In the past 24-hour period, 106 Quebecers entered hospitals while 176 were discharged.

The province reported 1,861 new novel coronavirus cases, though the number isn’t representative of the current situation since PCR testing is limited to certain groups, including health-care workers and teachers...

Hospitalizations are continuing to decrease in Quebec, dropping by 68 on Thursday for a total of 1,604, with 96 patients admitted and 164 discharged.

Intensive care numbers dipped to 96, a decrease of six.

An additional 28 deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total to 13,931 since the pandemic began. This is a slight jump in from the previous day, when 17 deaths were reported.

Of the new hospitalizations, 67 of the 96 patients are older than 60, with 44 of them triple-vaccinated, nine double-vaccinated and two who received a single dose. Five are unvaccinated and one patient has an unknown status.

Sixty patients are younger than 59. Four are triple-vaccinated, eight are double-vaccinated, three have received one shot, nine are unvaccinated and two have unknown vaccination status.

One child between the ages of five and 11 was admitted, while eight children below age four were admitted.

As for ICU patients, four are triple-vaxxed, two are double-vaxxed and two are unvaccinated.

According to Quebec’s health ministry, unvaccinated individuals are currently 7.5 times more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 and 15.6 times more likely to end up in the ICU.

Ninety-one per cent of Quebecers aged five and up have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

The Quebec Health Ministry recorded 1,517 new cases of the virus Thursday, though these numbers are no longer reliable since PCR testing was limited to a small sector of the population.

Hospitalizations are still on the decline in Quebec, dropping by 72 Friday for a total of 1,532 with 84 patients admitted and 156 discharged.

Intensive care numbers rose slightly to 105, an increase of nine, with 20 new entries and 11 discharges.

Twenty-four new deaths were reported, bringing the total to 13,931 since the pandemic began.

Of the new hospitalizations, 55 patients are older than 60, with 31 of them triple-vaccinated, 10 double-vaccinated and one who received a single dose. Ten are unvaccinated and three patients have an unknown status.

There are 29 patients below age 59. Ten are triple-vaccinated, five are double-vaccinated, seven are unvaccinated and three have an unknown vaccination status.

As Quebec gets set to lift its telework order for office staff, the province reported 53 fewer hospitalizations on Saturday and ICU numbers dropped by five.

There are now 1,479 people in Quebec hospitals receiving treatment after 83 patients checked in and 136 were discharged.

Fifty-three of the new patients were over 60 years old with 31 of those triple-vaccinated, 11 double-vaccinated, nine unvaccinated, and two with unknown vaccination status.

Of the 30 patients under 60, five were triple-vaccinated, 12 double-vaccinated, eight unvaccinated and one having received one dose of vaccine. One patient's vaccination status was unknown and three patients were under four and ineligible to receive a dose of vaccine.

There are now 100 patients in ICUs after five were admitted or transferred to a unit. Of the five new patients, two were over 60 and triple vaccinated, one was under 60 and double-vaccinated, one was under 60 and unvaccinated and one was under five years old...

Quebec COVID-19 numbers continue to drop with five deaths reported due to the disease and hospitalizations down by 23.

Since the start of the pandemic, 13,974 people have died due to the novel coronavirus, according to Quebec.

The Ministry of Health said that 80 patients checked in to a hospital in the province for treatment and 103 were discharged.

Of the new patients, 53 were over 60 years old with 36 of those triple-vaccinated, nine double-vaccinated, seven unvaccinated and one with an unknown vaccination status.

Of those under 60, one was triple-vaccinated, 11 double-vaccinated, five unvaccinated, one having received one dose of vaccine and two with unknown vaccination statuses. Two patients were fully vaccinated and between five and 11, and five were under five and ineligible to receive a vaccine.

Intensive care unit numbers dropped below 100 with a net decrease of two patients.

There were five patients transferred or admitted to an ICU with two of those triple-vaccinated, two double-vaccinated and one unvaccinated...

As businesses can now operate without a mandatory telework order and bars reopen, Quebec reported seven new COVID-19 deaths and hospitalizations dropped by 10.

The Ministry of Health reported that 59 new patients checked into hospital for novel coronavirus care and 69 were discharged, dropping the total hospitalizations to 1,446.

There were four fewer patients in the province's intensive care units after seven were admitted or transferred into an ICU ward and 11 were discharged.

With the seven new deaths, the total number of people who have died since the start of the pandemic is now 13,981 in Quebec.
POSITIVE TESTS DROP BELOW 1,000

New positive infections from PCR tests dropped below 1,000 for the first time since before the Omicron variant wave hit.

There were 845 new infections reported.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health (INSPQ), which reports daily infection totals that are lower than the ones the Ministry of Health releases due to back testing, reported 899 new cases on Nov. 29...
