MONTREAL -- Quebec on Friday reported another significant jump in daily new COVD-19 cases, with 1,355 new infections.

That's the highest since April 16.

On Wednesday, the province reported 1,196 cases, the highest since April 24, and those numbers dropped only slightly on Thursday, to 1,146.

There have been two more deaths, similar to the last two days.

Hospitalizations went up slightly, with a net increase of three people in hospital and four more in intensive care, bringing those totals to 230 in hospital and 57 in ICU...

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,512 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, the largest single-day increase since April.

The last time the province reported cases that high was April 15 (1,684), at the peak of Quebec's springtime coronavirus wave.

Public health is monitoring 806 active cases within the province.

One more person has been reported dead due to the virus, bringing that total to 11,585 since the pandemic began.

Despite the spike in cases, overall hospitalizations decreased. There were 225 people in care Saturday morning, a decrease of five since the day before.

ICU cases creeped up, however. There were 60 reported intensive care patients Saturday...

Quebec reported 1,189 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday and two new deaths.

The province has administered 13,776,224 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 19,746 doses in the last 24 hours.

Quebec has 1,234 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 457,059 since the start of the pandemic.

The province's health officials also confirmed five more deaths, a total of 11,594...

...Hospitalizations are up by nine, bringing the number of people in Quebec hospitals to 235, that is 30 admissions and 21 discharges.

Of those, 58 people are in intensive care; down by four -- three new patients and seven who were released.

This number exceeds that reached at the start of the school year, when a surge in infections was observed in mid-September in the metropolis.

According to the Direction de la santé publique de Montréal, this situation stems mainly from a major outbreak underway in a processing and manufacturing company in western Montreal, where there have been 78 active cases so far. This is one of the largest outbreaks observed in the workplace in Montreal since the start of the pandemic.

Major workplace outbreaks are currently concentrated in the manufacturing and processing sector and have occurred ahead of the office holiday season. Three outbreaks alone generated 115 contaminations.

Outbreaks have also affected, but to a lesser extent, the business and personal services sector (30 cases) and manufacturing (21 cases).

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,807 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, the largest single-day increase since April 9, as the province straddled the peak of its spring wave of COVID-19.

That total is slightly lower than what was previously reported to CTV News by a source within the health ministry, who said the province had logged 1,821 new cases.

In the province's official update, public health reported overall hospitalizations increased by 13 to 255 people receiving care.

That's after 35 more people entered hospital with COVID-19 symptoms, and 22 were reportedly no longer receiving care since Wednesday morning.

Of those in hospital, 60 of them are in the ICU, an overall increase of one.

Public health is monitoring 940 active outbreaks and 12,085 active cases within the province...

Quebec's COVID-19 cases continue to spiral upwards, passing the 2,000 mark on Friday as the province reported 2,013 new cases.

The last time the daily case count rose above 2,000 was January 13, as the province contended with the worst of its winter wave.

There have been six new deaths, the province said.

The rate of positive cases among all the tests done has also risen very close to the alarm threshold of five per cent, hitting 4.8 per cent.

There are a total of 12,921 active cases across the province, another major jump. That's the highest since April 18, when Quebec recorded a spring peak of 13,374.

Hospitalizations, however, were relatively stable on Friday, with a net increase of just one patient in hospital and two more in intensive care.

Turnover at the hospital is quite high, with 26 new entries recorded and 25 discharged from care, for a total of 256 people getting hospital care.

Despite the high case count, the portrait is not the same as this time last year, with hospitalizations and deaths far lower.

On this day in 2020, Quebec saw 1,842 cases, but 33 deaths and 848 total hospitalizations, including 113 in the ICU.

MONTREAL -- After topping 2,000 new COVID-19 cases on Friday for the first time since January, Quebec reported on Saturday that 1,982 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Of those, 1,010 people were not fully vaccinated.

Quebec's health ministry says 970 people who tested positive were unvaccinated, 40 received one dose more than two weeks ago, and 972 received both doses more than a week prior to testing positive...

There are 1,035 active outbreaks being monitored by the health ministry.

The province also recorded four new deaths due to the disease, bringing that total to 11,607 since the start of the pandemic.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Sunday that 1,753 more people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Of those who tested positive, 876 were unvaccinated or received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine less than two weeks prior to testing positive, 37 received one dose more than two weeks prior, and 840 received both doses of vaccine more than seven days prior to the positive test.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Monday that 1,628 more people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 467,609.

Of those, 441,747 people have recovered from the novel coronavirus, the Quebec Institute of Public Health (INSPQ) says.
