Here is an excerpt from the Marin County, CA Week 50 influenza surveillance report:

A pediatric patient with a possible novel influenza A virus

Re: Possible H3N2v pediatric case in Marin County, CA

Northern California is seeing much of this strange illness that strikes children and it is rampant. It presents as flu symptoms, but what throws off the MD's is no fever. It is highly contagious and the incubation is about 3-5 days. The children seem to have mild symptoms, but the adults are a little more sick and it lasts for about two weeks. Md's say it could be flu, but since no fever, not testing.
I got this "virus" from my grandchild and I have never been so sick and her MD stated it was just a virus, but she was not as sick as myself.
So, since not being tested, hard to say, but I work in a hospital and everyone has gotten this from their kids or grandchildren and some adults are sicker than others.
IMO, I think it is all over and it is being tested for due to it being so mild. Antibiotics do not work, unless it is turns bacterial which most have not.
Be interesting to see what CDPH comes up with, due to so many budget cuts.
