A public health alert notice was sent to community physicians
regarding the Circulation of Novel, Swine-Origin,
Triple-Reassortant H3N2 Influenza (S-OtrH3N2) Virus,
was sent to all community physicians on Wednesday, December
21, 2012. See a copy of the alert below.
A pediatric patient with a possible novel influenza A virus
was detected in Marin County. The specimen tested
positive for an influenza A (H3 variant) and will be sent to
appropriate lab for strain-typing. The patient was a resident
of Napa county and was treated for mild symptoms.
