7 deaths due to dengue in Misamis Oriental

WHILE dengue cases in Cagayan de Oro ebbed for the first quarter this year, the case in Misamis Oriental surged from January to March 31 with seven deaths recorded.

Misamis Oriental Provincial Epidemic and Surveillance Unit (MisOr Pesu) records show 638 dengue cases with seven deaths. Two of those who died were from Gingoog City...

From 1 January to 2 May 2015, there were 24,075 cases of dengue, including 65 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 8.53% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=22,182)

Health authorities called on the public to clean their surroundings amid a 20 percent increase in dengue cases in Central Visayas from January to May this year.

Dr. Jonathan Niel Erasmo, DOH-7 dengue program coordinator, said in a forum held at the City Central School that they recorded 2,045 dengue cases and nine dengue deaths for the first five months of the year.

Dengue cases from January to May dropped

THE Davao City Health Office (CHO) said on Thursday, June 4, that the number of dengue cases from January to May 2015 dropped compared to the cases recorded from the same months in 2014.
Elizabeth B. Banzon, head of the CHO Tropical Disease Control, said the CHO recorded 1,140 dengue cases from January 1 to May 31 this year, which is 820 lesser than the previous year, where they recorded 1,960 dengue cases from January to May.
Of the 1,140 dengue cases in 2015, 427 were recorded in January, 283 in February, 178 in March, 155 in April, and 97 in May.
Banzon said a three-year-old and a nine-year-old child in Tibungco District died last month because of dengue.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY -- The Municipal Health Office (MHO) in the island town of Busuanga, in northern Palawan, is seeking help to arrest the outbreak of dengue that has already affected 109 persons.

MHO officer Lesaldeo Moses Princesa confirmed Thursday to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that a dengue outbreak has been declared in Busuanga, and most of those affected were high school students aged 13 years old and above.

At least 90 people were admitted at the Coron District Hospital in the nearby town of Coron, while more remain unaccounted for at the Culion Sanitarium Hospital in Culion municipality...

Dengue cases in Pampanga rise by 80%

San Fernando (CNN Philippines) ? The Department of Health-Region 3 records 1,175 dengue cases in Pampanga as of June 2015.

This number marks an 80% increase compared to the number of cases recorded during the same period last year which was 657.

No dengue outbreak has been recorded yet, although several barangays in Mabalacat and Guagua are being clustered...
 
DOH: 42,207 dengue cases, 193 deaths from January to 1st week of June

At least 42,207 dengue cases, 193 of them fatal, had been recorded from January to the first week of June this year, even as the Department of Health pushed for the "basics" of early prevention and community action.

The DOH's National Epidemiology Center said the total figure represents a one-percent decline, or 456 fewer cases, compared to the same period in 2012.

A breakdown of data showed that most of the dengue cases from Jan. 1 to June 8 were recorded in:

- Central Visayas (6,023 cases, 51-percent increase)
- Calabarzon (4,742, 17-percent decrease)
- Davao Region (4,364, 30-percent increase)
- Western Visayas (4,444, 102-percent increase)
- SOCCKSARGEN (3,963, 126-percent increase).

Dengue outbreak declared in Sagbayan

Tagbilaran City (CNN Philippines) ? Government officials of Sagbayan, Bohol have declared a dengue outbreak in the municipality, as the number of cases continue to increase. One death attributed to the disease was recorded on Wednesday (August 19).

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reymoses Cabagnot confirmed that the Municipal Health Office in Sagbayan had to declare the outbreak, as 98 cases have been reported from the start of July to August 17.

According to Cabagnot, Barangay Poblacion has been the most affected, with 70 cases on the record...

THE Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday a four-percent increase in the number of dengue cases in the country during the first seven months of the year.

According to the DOH, a total of 48,872 dengue cases were reported from January 1 to August 1, up by 4.03 percent compared to the same period last year, which was at 46,980.

Majority of the cases were from Calabarzon (15.3 percent); Central Luzon (12.8 percent); Metro Manila (12 percent); Northern Mindanao (9.3 percent); and Socsksargen (7 percent)...

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines ? Dengue cases in the province of Negros Occidental are up by 80.84% as of mid-August compared to the first 8 months of last year, records at the Provincial Health Office showed.

A total of 774 dengue patients were admitted to different private and public hospitals from January 1 to August 15 this year, compared to 428 incidents of the same period in 2014.

Only one fatality has been reported in 2015 so far, while there were 3 in 2014...

Dumaguete City (CNN Philippines) ? The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Negros Oriental declared a dengue outbreak in two cities in the province.

Dr. Socrates Villamor, IPHO head, said that a dengue outbreak was declared in Guihulgan and Canlaon last week.

Investigations conducted in these areas by the team from the Regional Epidemiological Survey Unit (RESU) showed that most of the victims are students of a state university in Guihulngan who are renting boarding houses at the back of the Guihulngan City District Hospital...

MANILA - Officials of the Department of Health (DOH) disclosed on Tuesday that 78,808 dengue cases were recorded from Jan. 1 to Sept. 5 this year, which is 16.5 percent higher than last year's tally.

DOH records show that, during the same period in 2014, there were 67,637 dengue cases reported.

Most of the cases were logged in the regions of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) with 11,894 cases; followed by Central Luzon (11,806); National Capital (8,099); Ilocos Region (6,501) and Central Mindanao (5,795)...

MANILA -- The number of dengue fever cases in the Philippines is on the rise reaching 78,800 in the first nine months of the year and resulting in 233 deaths, the Department of Health said Monday.

Although the number infected is about 15,000 more than over the same period last year, the number of deaths is lower than 2014's 297 fatalities in the first nine months.

The Health Department will give insecticide-treated screens to public schools identified as high risk for the mosquito-borne infection, spokesman Lyndon Lee Suy said in a radio interview Monday.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday disclosed that the number of dengue cases in the first nine months of 2015 has increased to over 90,000.

Latest data from the Epidemiology Bureau (EB) showed that a total of 92,807 dengue cases nationwide was recorded from January 1 to September 19 this year, a 23.5-percent increase from that during the same period in 2014...

The Department of Health (DOH) yesterday reported that almost 125,000 individuals have been stricken by potentially fatal dengue fever in the first ten months this year, which represented a 40 percent increase over the same period last year.

According to the most recent nationwide data from the DOH?s Epidemiology Bureau (DOH-EB), a total of 124,728 dengue cases were recorded from January 1 to October 17 this year, 40.3 percent higher than the 88,898 cases recorded from January to October, 2014.

Cebu City ? Dengue cases in Central Visayas increased to 95 percent so far this year with 71 fatalities, the Department of Health in Region VII (DOH-7) said.

From January 1 to November 21 this year, dengue cases in Central Visayas reached 10,956, nearly double the number of cases registered during the same period last year...
