...

At week 41 with respect to the proportion of hospitalizations for SARI between hospitalizations for all causes (2.5%), the proportion of income between SARI ICU admissions to ICU from all causes (11.8%) and, the proportion of deaths from SARI among the dead from all causes (3%) presented a similar situation last week with a variation of less than 3%.

...

Of all patients hospitalized for SARI 28.5% had one or more factors
of risk. The most frequent were chronic respiratory disease, including
asthma (43%) heart disease (43%), diabetes (19%) and obesity (14.3%).
12% of hospitalized cases of SARI spoke after receiving the vaccine
Influenza during the 2010-2011 season and about 6% received therapy
Oseltamivir. (Table 6). So far this year, the cumulative total of cases died
reported in the SARI Surveillance add 174.

...

From the SE 1 to SE 41 1669 have been processed respiratory specimens from [sentinel] hospitals SARI, the percentage of positive cumulative 20.2% (337/1669). The data accumulated to indicate 41 SE greater proportion of RSV (62%), followed by influenza A H3 (26%) and Adenovirus smaller proportion (6%) and Parainfluenza (6%). So far this year has identified a single positive sample for Influenza A H1N1 2009. (Figure 14)
Monitoring of viral circulation Hospital SARI surveillance, identification shows sporadic influenza A / H3 and Adenovirus during EW 39. In the last two weeks no positive samples from reported cases of SARI surveillance sites. (Figure 15).

For whatever reason, neither report has any information on ILI. Both focus on Dengue which has come down significantly since earlier this year (8 cases in week 44), and Acute diarrhoeal disease.

Other diseases reported this week;
4 cases of Kala Azar, 1 case of meningitis and 6 cases of parotitis.

Ok figured it out. Paraguay has separated the ILI portion as a distinct Respiratory disease report.

Re: Paraguay Epidemiological Bulletin Weeks 20-44

The week 43 report includes data up to October 22nd. As of now, there is no more recent report. The splitting of reports seems to coincide with a delay of about 2 weeks in the respiratory reports. The epidemiological reports are currently on week 45.

Thank you, Ronan. That would make sense because the patients in the mystery outbreak did not start entering the hospital until November 2.

WATCH NATIONAL OUTBREAK OR CLUSTERS
Outbreak of ILI due to Influenza A H1N1 pdm 09 in the Criminal Tacumb?

Since the beginning of November there were 219 cases of ILI in the Criminal Tacumb?, where the number of prisoners amounted to 3442. Eight (8) cases of 9 samples were positive for influenza A H1N1 pdm 09, giving an incidence rate of 63, 6 per 1000 inhabitants. Positive cases mentioned show movement of virus that has a behavior similar to other viruses such as H3N2 influenza circulating, so it is considered a seasonal influenza strain. None of the patients had complications. They have taken control actions in coordination with the prison authorities and the Health Region XVIII. The overcrowding of the prison Tacumb? dynamics favors the aerosol-borne infections or fomites, such as the ILI.
