KARACHI: Another patient of dengue viral fever died in Sindh province on Saturday, raising the death toll to 19. As per details, three-years-old Rubeena died of dengue at Village Dahar Taluka Pano Aqil, says Dr Shakeel Malik, focal person of provincial dengue surveillance cell. He added during last 24 hours 41 new patients of dengue were hospitalized in the province. So far 4119 people with dengue fever symptoms reported to hospital this year, and out of them 2479 were confirmed as dengue positive. Nineteen people have died of dengue fever in the province this year.

195 more cases of Dengue virus have been detected in the City, while the Punjab health department (PHD) was focusing on weather as the sole relief, as winters would hopefully reduce the frequency of patients.
Media reports indicate the total toll of Dengue patients to 2,400 to date, as doctors report a steady influx of patients in public and private hospitals.
The spokesman of PHD, Punjab has publicly denied any dearth of platelets, which were being provided to public hospitals according to requirements.
It was also announced that so far 2,632 patients had been treated successfully, with 73 patients being discharged on 06th Nov

167 dengue patients under treatment in city hospitals

LAHORE: Some 167 dengue patients are under treatment in different hospitals of the provincial capital while 94 others have been discharged after recovery during the last 24 hours.

According to the report issued by the Punjab Health Department (Communicable Diseases Control Cell), on Sunday, 179 cases of dengue were reported from Lahore and 33 from other districts during the last 24 hours, which indicate that dengue cases are gradually reducing.

Over 280 dengue patients in hospitals

KARACHI: Two hundred and eighty-five dengue affected patients are currently admitted at different hospitals in Karachi besides 68 in the interior parts of the province...

...Sources said 19 dengue fever induced deaths were registered in the province during the past one month or so. Of these, 15 were from Karachi only.

KARACHI: Eighty-three more patients with symptoms of dengue and high fever were admitted in various hospitals of Sindh as the number of hospitalised dengue patients rose to 267 during last 24 hours. According to the report issued from Dengue Surveillance Cell, 4,704 patients of high fever and dengue symptoms were admitted in various hospitals of Sindh and of them 2,899 were found dengue positive. According to official figures, 20 patients of dengue fever have died so far during current year. ppi

More than 200 new cases of dengue

Dengue fever continues to spread, as more than 200 cases were reported in one day across Pakistan.

In Lahore, 169 cases of dengue have been reported, while a spokesman for Punjab Health Department has stated that there is no shortage of platelets in government hospitals. He also said that 4,122 dengue patients have been cured and 128 are still under treatment, and that the disease is on the decline in the province.

While in Sindh there have been reports of 68 new cases, which takes the total number of cases in the province to 2,950, with 2,551 cases being reported from Karachi.

So far 20 people have died as a result of the virus in the province. The Health Ministry in Sindh has offered free treatment for dengue patients

LAHORE (November 16, 2010) : Health Department (Communicable Diseases Control Wing) Punjab has released a two weeks' comparison report on dengue virus, revealing a decreasing trend in the cases of dengue fever in the province. According to the report, during the period from 7th to 13th November, 1381 dengue fever cases were reported as compared to 1468 cases during the period from 30th October to 6th November in Punjab.

Similarly, 1034 and 1174 dengue cases were reported in Lahore during the said period...

Young woman dies of dengue fever

KARACHI (APP): A 24-year old woman Sumaira succumbed to Dengue Fever at a local hospital on Friday. A Sindh health department official told APP that demise of the unfortunate woman brought the total number of dengue induced deaths in the city to 19. A resident of Jamshed Road, Sumaira was admitted to the hospital in the hemorrhagic stage of the ailment, with high temperature and bleeding. The total number of new cases reported to the Sindh Dengue Surveillance during past 24 hours was 15 with 57 already hospitalized in Karachi. New cases reported from other parts of the province were five and 14 still under treatment at different hospitals. The provincial health department since September this year has provided 910 mega-units with 846 transfused to patients in need at Karachi. The recipients were those who were brought with dengue hemmorhagic fever to hospitals, both in private and public sector. Meanwhile, 3893 cases referred to hospitals were found to be dengue positive, since early this year, against a total of 5760 suspected dengue cases

Karachi has 3,259 dengue positive patients

KARACHI: The number of dengue positive patients has climbed to 3,259 in Karachi, while 638 were reported from other parts of the province this year. A report of the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell (PDSC) said 5,770 suspected patients with symptoms of dengue fever have been registered so far in different hospitals of Sindh, while 5,070 of them belong to Karachi. With the death of 24-year-old Sumaira on Friday at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the growing official death toll of dengue patients has now reached 19 in the city and 24 in the province...

12 more dengue patients hospitalised

KARACHI: Twelve new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in the city while two others brought to hospitals of interior Sindh during the last 24 hours. Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell (PDSC) reported that this year, 3,358 patients out of the 5,207 suspected dengue patients have tested positive at different hospitals in Karachi.

KARACHI: Sindh is struck by an irrepressible dengue outbreak since January this year with a rising stature of 4,052 virus positive patients while Karachi alone bears 3,369. Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell report said 18 dengue patients are being treated in various hospitals in the city and five in rest of the province. Seven new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in the metropolis during last 24 hours while no patients were brought to hospital in rest of the province. As many as 5,220 suspected dengue patients have been reported in different hospitals of Karachi this year
