Another person with COVID-19 has died on P.E.I. in the last week, according to new statistics released by the province Tuesday.

The person was between the ages of 60 and 79 years. It marks the 33rd COVID-related death on P.E.I.

Six admitted are in hospital due to COVID-19, and none in the Intensive Care Unit. Sixteen others were admitted for other reasons and were COVID-19 positive on or after admission...

CHARLOTTETOWN - Health officials in P.E.I. are reporting a sharp decline in the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 on May 24.

The province's weekly pandemic update on Tuesday reported that 12 people were in the hospital with the virus, down from 22 reported on May 17.

Of those hospitalized, five were admitted due to COVID-19, and seven were admitted for other reasons and were COVID positive on or after admission.

None of the patients are in intensive care.

The province also reported 454 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past week for an average of 65 new cases per day...

Health officials in P.E.I. are reporting a drop in the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 on May 31.

The province's weekly pandemic update on May 31 reported that seven people were in the hospital with the virus, down from 12 reported on May 24.

Of those hospitalized, three were admitted due to COVID-19, and four were admitted for other reasons and were COVID positive on or after admission.

None of the patients are in intensive care.

Public Health did not update whether there were any deaths from the virus over the past week, with an update expected June 7.

The province also reported 476 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past week for an average of 68 new cases per day. Last week, the province reported 454 new confirmed COVID-19 cases for an average of 65 new cases per day.

There are currently 590 active cases of COVID-19 in P.E.I...

Two people on P.E.I. died in the last two weeks after being diagnosed with COVID-19, according to new statistics released by the province Tuesday.

This brings the total number of COVID-related deaths on P.E.I. to 35 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

Both individuals were 80 years old or over.

In the past week, according to the update, three people were admitted to hospital due to COVID-19. Six others were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for COVID-19 on or after admission.

The person who died was 80 or older, according to weekly data released Tuesday by the province. It was the Island's 46th death related to COVID-19.

There was an average of 182 cases per day over the past seven days. That's up from the previous week, when there was a total of 1,070 new cases and a daily average of 153.

Two of the people who died were 80 years old or older. The other person was between 60-79.

There have now been 49 deaths related to COVID-19 on P.E.I.

The number of hospitalizations and positive cases also continues to climb.

There were 1,706 confirmed new cases over the past seven days, compared with 1,270 the week before. The average number of cases per day increased from 182 to 244.

The numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations on P.E.I. dropped over the last seven days, according to data released Tuesday by the P.E.I. Department of Health and Wellness.

There were 1,388 new cases, down from 1,706 the week before. The number of hospitalizations fell from 41 to 32. Twenty-three of those currently in hospital were admitted for other reasons and tested positive on or after admission.

P.E.I. is reporting 1,011 new cases over the past seven days, compared with 1,388 the week before.

The number people in hospital with COVID-19 is also trending downward, after a record 41 people were reported to be in hospital with the virus on July 19.

P.E.I. health officials are reporting three new COVID-19-related deaths over the past week.

The latest fatalities reported in the province's weekly pandemic update brings the provincial death toll from the virus to 52 since the start of the pandemic.

There are 19 people in hospital with COVID-19 as of Tuesday, Aug. 9, down from 27 reported on Aug. 2.

Of those, one was admitted due to COVID-19, and 18 others were admitted for other reasons and tested COVID-positive on or after admission.

The province also reported 776 new cases of the virus over the past seven days, meaning P.E.I. has found an average of 112 cases per day.

Last week, there were 1,011 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, for an average of 145 new cases per day. ..

The number of new COVID-19 cases in P.E.I. continues to be on a downward trend, with no new deaths reported in the province's latest update on Tuesday.

The Department of Health and Wellness confirmed 571 new cases since the last update, with an average of 81 diagnosed cases per day over the last week.

It's the fourth straight week cases have fallen, and the lowest seven-week average for daily new cases since May 31.
