Prince Edward Island is reporting eight people in hospital due to COVID-19 Sunday.

The chief public health officer for the province, Dr. Heather Morrison, says there are four people in hospital due to COVID-19, and four people in hospital who were admitted for other reasons, but were positive on admission or tested positive after being admitted.

There are 143 new cases of COVID-19 and 181 recoveries in the province. The new cases are still under investigation...

In a news release, Dr. Heather Morrison, the province’s chief public health officer, says there are four people in hospital due to COVID-19. There are also four people in hospital who were admitted for other reasons, but tested positive for COVID-19 when they were admitted, or after they were admitted.

Those numbers remain unchanged since Sunday...

Prince Edward Island is reporting seven people in hospital with COVID-19 on Tuesday – a slight drop from Monday’s report of eight people in hospital.

Of those, three people are in hospital because of the virus, while four were hospitalized for other reasons but tested positive for COVID-19 either on admission or after being admitted.

CASE COUNT

The province says, as of Tuesday, there are 158 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on the island. The cases are still under investigation.

There are 1,885 active cases of the virus on P.E.I...

A person between 40 and 59 is the 15th COVID-related death of the pandemic, P.E.I. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison announced in a news release Wednesday.

There are three people in hospital due to COVID-19 and three more who were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for COVID on or after admission.

As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, there are 289 new cases of COVID-19. These new cases are still under investigation.

Over the last seven days, there have been an average of 198 new cases per day on P.E.I...

Outbreaks at the Community Hospital O'Leary and Prince County Correctional Centre are now over, according to the Chief Public Health Office.

In a release late Thursday afternoon, the CPHO said that there are now two people in hospital due to COVID-19 and one person in hospital who was admitted for other reasons and was either COVID positive on admission or tested positive after being admitted.

As of 8 a.m. Thursday there are 310 new cases. These new cases are still under investigation.

There are 2,148 active cases of COVID-19 on P.E.I. and there have been 11,257 total cases. Over the last seven days there have been an average of 213 cases per day...

Prince Edward Island reported two people in hospital with COVID-19 on Friday - a decrease from Wednesday’s report of six people in hospital.

Dr. Heather Morrison, P.E.I.'s chief public health officer, says of those in hospital, one was admitted due to COVID-19 and one was admitted for other reasons, but was either positive on admission or tested positive after being admitted.

The province also reported 235 new COVID-19 cases and 265 recoveries as of 8 a.m. Friday. All of the new cases are under investigation...

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I.'s chief public health officer is reporting 526 new cases of COVID-19 on Feb. 23.

During a briefing on Wednesday, Dr. Heather Morrison announced the new confirmed cases, noting that high case counts are due to testing clinics being closed on Monday for the Islander Day holiday.

The new cases bring P.E.I.'s active case count to 2,316. The province has reported an average of 244 new cases of COVID-19 per day over the past week.

Morrison added that two people are in hospital with COVID-19, and two others are in hospital who were admitted for other reasons and were COVID-positive on admission or tested positive after being admitted...

Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 on Prince Edward Island have gone down slightly since the province's last update on Wednesday.

As of Friday, there are six people in hospital with COVID-19 -- down one since Wednesday.

Of those in hospital, two were admitted due to COVID-19, and four were admitted for other reasons, but tested positive for the virus on or after admission.

The province is not reporting any new deaths related to COVID-19 on Friday.

P.E.I. has reported a total of 16 COVID-19-related deaths during the pandemic.

According to the province's website, health officials have identified 1,029 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday. The number of new recoveries was not provided Friday.

P.E.I. has reported an average of 416 cases per day over the last seven days.
