The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has declared a second avian influenza outbreak at a farm in Strathroy-Caradoc about a week after a first outbreak was confirmed in the municipality.

This latest bird flu outbreak in Strathroy-Caradoc, declared Nov. 22, affects 15,625 turkeys and is on a commercial farm, the agency said in an email, noting the property is “next” to the “infected premises” where the highly contagious virus was first detected on Nov. 14.
“The continued detections of HPAI in both wild and domestic birds in Canada is a strong reminder for anyone raising birds to remain vigilant of HPAI and ensure they have effective biosecurity measures in place,” the CFIA said...
