Six hospitalized with E.coli-like symptoms

GERMANTOWN, Ohio ?
Public Health -- Dayton & Montgomery County said it is looking into a possible foodborne outbreak stemming from a carry-in picnic in Germantown whose victims suffered from E.coli-like symptoms.
Bill Wharton, a spokesman for the local health department said between 200 and 300 people attended an annual employee appreciation picnic at Neff's Lawn Care, located at 9400 Eckhart Rd., and about 10 of them became ill. Roughly six were hospitalized, Wharton said.

Some of the symptoms suffered by victims are consistent with those of E.coli, he said. This includes bloody diarrhea. It will take time to make that determination, he said.
