It was announced that 257 patients those who were analyzed mucous nasal were discarded, whereas 56 was considered to be suspects without sample and seven more are in study.
The report of the deceases recounts that 16 deceases have been submitted to laboratory studies.
Of them only there exists the official assertion of the presence of the virus AH1N1 in 15 persons, of these eight they correspond to Ju?rez, but seven are fully confirmed and one has been already discarded.
The Secretary of Health informed that the number of cases confirmed like positive to the virus AH1N1 is 86 in the period from March 22 until May 05, 2011. Of the persons confirmed in the state one they are in clinical stable condition, none is brought seriously and 14 persons have died.
Of the confirmed persons one is hospitalized and 70 more recover in his domiciles.
The confirmed cases of influenza, for group of age correspond to an individual younger than one year; two to the group from 1 to 4 years; nine to the status from 5 to 14 years; 14 to that from 15 to 24 years; 34 to the group from 25 to 44; 24 more to an age that fluctuates between the 45 and 64 years and major two of 65 years.

"Calvo" is Spanish for "Bald", so this is a mildly odd translation error. The final mentioned death above occured in the city of "Guadlupe y Calvo".

Even assuming the 56 without samples and the 5 suspected cases were infected with an H1N1 strain, it would put the CFR in this area of Mexico at .10 [15/(86+56+5)].

Such a high CFR ought to be cause for grave concern.

I think that it's hard to put a real cfr on this right now. There have been around 100,000 cases of ARI in Chihuahua in the past six weeks. How many of them were flu?

They only give the rapid test to those patients who they strongly suspect to be ill with A/H1N1. This methodology leaves out many, many A/H1N1 cases who present with mild and moderate symptoms, therefore, a case fatality rate is impossible to calculate with any reliability.

SSJ registers third case of influenza A H1N1 in Jalisco

GUADALAJARA, JALISCO (09/MAY/2011) .-The Secretary of Health Jalisco (SSJ) brought the third case of Influenza TO H1N1 in Jalisco during 2011, it corresponds to a 21-year-old young man of age who came to external consultation of a hospital deprived of Guadalajara. In accordance with his clinical characteristics it was given him antiviral as he informs the dependency and it got about by sample to the State Laboratory.
