Mali recorded this Friday, June 5, 2020, 24 new confirmed cases of covid-19, bringing the provisional number to 1,485 in this country.

According to the Malian Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, out of 137 samples tested, 24 returned positive, including eight cases found in Bamako and 14 in the Timbuktu region in the north of the country.

A total of ten patients have tested negative and two more deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours in the country, the ministry statement said, adding that 2,474 contact cases are being monitored daily.

To date, this West African country has had 1,485 confirmed cases, including 87 deaths and 816 cured, since March 25.

The state of health emergency declared on March 25 in Mali is still maintained, while the curfew has been lifted. Wearing a mask is also compulsory in all public places.
