PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has detected ten new Covid-19 cases as of Saturday (March 7), bringing the total number of cases in Malaysia to 93.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all of the cases have been identified and the patients are currently under treatment.

"All the new cases recorded today are due to close contact with case number 33, where four cases, which are cases 85,86,87, and 93, were first-generation close contacts with case 33," he said in a statement on Saturday.

Dr Noor Hisham said the other six cases were second-generation close contacts of patient 33...

The Health Ministry today announced 18 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to date to 117 cases.

Of the 18 new cases, only one was imported while 17 others are likely to be local transmissions.

Health Ministry director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah said the imported case is Patient 101 who just returned from Iran...

PETALING JAYA: A church in Puchong has confirmed that another two of its members have tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur website said two members of the

Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLOG), who were in close contact with the first confirmed case in the parish, had been tested positive for Covid-19.

“Both have been admitted to Sungai Buloh Buloh for treatment,” it said...

SEPANG: Malaysia has recorded another 12 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country's tally to 129.

The newly-minted Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said the 12 new cases were close contacts of Patient 33.

"We were able to track these cases through our contact tracing process," said Dr Adham to reporters here Tuesday (March 10).

He also said that so far, 25 patients who were treated for Covid-19 in the country have been discharged from hospital...

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has confirmed 20 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the tally to 149.

Its director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said from the current figure, 22 cases were detected among Covid-19 Patient-Under-Investigation (PUI), 124 from close contacts, one with a severe acute respiratory infection and two other cases from those who were part of Humanitarian Aid Missions.

To date, two Covid-19 patients are warded at the Intensive Care Unit and under stable condition, although both require the aid of breathing machines...

KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced today that a whopping 39 new cases were reported as at noon today, bringing the total positive cases to 197.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cases in the second wave to hit Malaysia were mostly reported from patients under investigation (PUI) at 52 cases, while the rest were from two major clusters of infection.

“From these new cases, 38 cases were identified among PUI and one from close contact,” he said in a statement...

PUTRAJAYA: The health ministry has entered into the late containment stage in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said the ministry is also preparing for the mitigation stage by designating Hospital Sungai Buloh as a specialised Covid-19 admitting hospital, increasing capacity and lab capabilities for detection of the virus and identifying quarantine centres nationwide.

Another measure, he said, would be working with NGOs and private facilities for Covid-19 case management.

At a press conference here today, Adham also announced 125 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number in the country to 553. Forty-two patients have been discharged so far...

KUALA LUMPUR: Two COVID-19 patients in Malaysia have died on Tuesday (Mar 17), Health Minister Adham Baba said.

The first was a 60-year-old pastor from Sarawak, while the second was a 34-year-old man who attended the Sri Petaling religious gathering, the minister said in a presser.

The 34-year-old man, who is known as Case 178, attended the mass religious gathering held at Sri Petaling mosque between Feb 27 and Mar 1.

He developed a fever on Mar 5 and was diagnosed with COVID-19 at Permai Hopsital in Johor.

His condition then worsened and he was pronounced dead on Tuesday, Dr Adham said.

Meanwhile, the 60-year-old pastor from Sarawak's Emmanuel Baptist Church, who was known as Case 358, had fever, cough and breathing difficulties from Mar 7. He has chronic medical conditions.

He was admitted to Sarawak General Hospital on Mar 14. His condition worsened and he was transferred to the intensive care unit. He also died on Tuesday, Dr Adham added.

Dr Adham also confirmed that Malaysia has reported 120 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Malaysia to 673. ..

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia on Thursday (Mar 19) reported 110 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total in the country to 900, said Health Minister Adham Baba.

Of the new cases, 63 are linked to the tabligh (religious) gathering at a mosque in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.

The event, attended by 16,000 people, has also led to infections in neighbouring countries including Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand...

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported its fifth and sixth fatalities related to COVID-19 on Saturday (Mar 21), hours after the fourth fatality was announced.

The victims, a 79-year-old mother and her 40-year-old daughter, were both from Kuching...

Earlier on Saturday, the country reported its fourth death - Case 238, a 50-year-old Malaysian man, had died on Saturday.

The man, who was part of the tabligh (religious) rally held at Sri Petaling mosque between Feb 27 and Mar 1, was admitted to Melaka Hospital on Mar 12...

The ministry also reported 153 new positive cases, bringing the total number to 1,183...

GEORGE TOWN: The 74-year-old man who died on Sunday (March 22) marked the first Covid-19 fatality in the state.

The man, the 10th to die of the disease in Malaysia, showed symptoms on March 8 and was warded in Penang Hospital on March 13...
...As of noon March 22, there were 1,306 Covid-19 cases and 10 fatalities from the disease in Malaysia.
