Maharashtra government all for swine flu vaccination before monsoon

The countdown for monsoon is yet to begin but the state health minister is all set to fight swine flu by spreading the message of vaccination. The H1N1 virus had killed 46 people in Mumbai early this year and health experts are expecting the infection to return during the rainy season.
The idea to have vaccination awareness programmes for H1N1 virus was chalked out by the special communicable disease committee formed by the state health department. The committee is headed by Dr Subhash Salunkhe. He has been appointed as the chairman of the Maharashtra Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Technical Committee and its major role will be to design recommendations for preventive measures and surveillance of communicable disease.
