[h=1]3-month-old girl among two new H1N1 victims[/h]
MUMBAI: A three-month-old infant from Akola and a 32-year-old man from Kalyan were the latest to die of H1N1 influenza in the city, taking the death toll to 46. Even as positive cases have been going down, there have been steady instances of deaths from different age groups but mostly with underlying health problems.
Since Saturday, this is the sixth death to be reported from city hospitals. The infant from Akola was born with a congenital heart condition. He was brought to Kasturba Hospital, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia caused by the H1N1 infection on March 27. The baby passed away on Tuesday due to the respiratory infection.
[h=1]District registers three new cases of swine flu, one suspected death[/h] NASHIK: Continuous spells of rain witnessed in the district at short intervals throughout March has favored the H1N1 virus to spread ? three more cases of swine flu were registered on Tuesday. The health department of the zilla parishad registered two cases from the district ? one from Lakhalgaon and the other from the municipal limits. The third case is that of a patient hailing from Thane, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
Besides, the city has registered another death of a patient suspected of suffering from swine flu while the total number of positive cases has increased to 168. So far, 17,993 suspected patients have been screened across the 15 talukas of the district since the beginning of the year.
[h=1]One more swine flu patient dies[/h] Nagpur: One more death of a swine flu patient took the toll in Nagpur circle of state's public health department to 107 since January 1. One patient at Government Medical College and Hospital passed away on Thursday while two more patients admitted who had died earlier were declared H1N1 positive.
Between January 1 and April 1, a total of 547 patients were known to suffer from the disease as per the data available with deputy director of health services (DDHS). Of them, 411 have recovered, making the survival rate of the disease in the region around 75%. With 106 deaths in this time period, the death rate comes to 19%. Thirty patients are still undergoing treatment.
[h=1]Swine flu kills 12 in Maharashtra on Wednesday[/h] Maharashtra recorded 51 new swine flu cases and 12 deaths on Wednesday. Of these, two deaths were recorded in Nanded and Mumbai each, and one each in Buldhana, Bhandara, Aurangbad, Jalna, Kolhapur, Pune and Ahmednagar.
One of the deceased is a three-month-old child, a resident of Akola, who died in Mumbai. He was admitted to Kasturba Hospital on March 27 and succumbed three days later. He suffered from pneumonia with congenital heart disease with influenza H1N1 infection.
Swine Flu claims six more lives in Maharashtra, toll rises to 422
Swine flu deaths continued unabated across Maharashtra as 6 more persons succumb to the H1N1 virus taking the toll to 422, since January this year. According to the State Health Department, 45 new patients across the state have tested positive for H1N1 in the last 24 hours taking the total number of swine flu affected cases in the state to 4670.

[h=1]32-yr-old woman succumbs to H1N1, eighth in last 5 days[/h]
MUMBAI: A delay of at least eight days in initiating treatment for H1N1 influenza claimed the life of a 32-year-old woman from Trombay on Wednesday. Shabana Begum, who did not have any underlying ailments and sought treatment from four hospitals, became the eighth person to die of the infection in the last five days.
The slacking H1N1 influenza virus continues to be fatal even as positive cases are coming down. With her death, city hospitals have recorded 47 deaths since January of which 18 were Mumbaikars.

New Delhi, Apr. 3 (ANI): Three persons succumbed to swine flu in Maharashtra, taking the total death toll in the state to 425 since January this year.
Overall though, the disease is on a decline across the state.
As per reports, 22 new patients tested positive for the H1N1 virus in the state, with the total number of cases now standing at 4692.

NAGPUR: The death toll among swine flu patients in the Nagpur circle of state's public health department has risen to 108.

"On Saturday, 75-year-old Yenu Dhote whom we were treating for swine flu passed away. Currently, there are five patients admitted in the swine flu ward of the hospital," informed an official from GMCH.

A 9-year-old boy became the latest victim of H1N1 infection, Wednesday, after he succumbed to multiple organ dysfunction at the civic-run Kasturba Hospital. 49 people across Mumbai have died due to the viral infection so far.
The Kurla boy was initially admitted at Sion hospital on March 29 with symptoms of flu. He was also a known case of pulmonary hypertension and was already seeking treatment at the hospital?s pediatric department before symptoms of the viral infection surfaced.

[h=1]24-yr-old dies of swine flu[/h]
NAGPUR: With the death of a 24-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh, the toll due to H1N1 at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) rose to 48 while in the Nagpur circle, covering six districts, it touched 112 on Friday.
On Friday, samples of a 52-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman admitted at GMCH came out positive. Currently, six H1N1 positive patients are undergoing treatment in ward number 25 at GMCH. There no children under treatment for the disease.
The death toll due to the H1N1 virus in Maharashtra has risen to 445 with 3 more patients succumbing to the disease, in the last 24 hours.
The overall percentage of the disease is decreasing across the state.
According to the State Health Department, 18 new patients across the state have tested positive for H1N1 in last 24 hours taking the total number of swine flu affected cases in the state to 4892. 1898 cases are reported from Mumbai, 576 cases are from Nagpur, and 1214 from Pune.

NASHIK: The health department of the zilla parishad on Monday registered two more deaths of swine flu. It also registered five new positive cases of H1N1 virus, increasing the total count to 193 patients since January. The officials blame unseasonal rains experienced in the region for the spread of the disease.
An official at the health department of the zilla parishad said that Disha Lalbahadur Rana (28), a resident under the Satana Municipal Corporation, was admitted to a private hospital in Nashik after she showed symptoms of swine flu. Her swab was tested positive on April 7 and she succumbed to the disease on April 11 while undergoing treatment.
The second death was reported from a resident of the Nashik city from the Gangapur Road area. Sangita Govind Baste (35), also admitted in a private hospital, tested positive on April 8. The patient was immediately admitted to the civil hospital on April 9, but died the same day in the evening.

22 new swine flu cases reported in Mumbai

Swine flu has resurfaced in the city with more than 22 new cases reported on Thursday following Wednesday?s unseasonal showers, mercury soaring to 34 degree C on Thursday notwithstanding. This takes the number of swine flu patients in Mumbai to 1,872. Of the 22 new cases, over 16 are female and six are male with four patients said to be serious and on ventilator. Further, over five paediatric cases have been detected with the disease.
Meanwhile, the state too recorded 22 new cases of the infectious disease, taking the total number of swine flu patients to 4,973 since January this year, of which, 452 persons have died of the disease.
