Of that number, 6 cases originated at a single homeless shelter in Rīga.

Latvia recorded three more cases of COVID-19 on June 4, increasing the total number of cases from 1,079 on Wednesday to 1,083 on Thursday.

One more fatality was also recorded, taking the death toll to 25. The victim was aged 80 to 85 with several chronic health issues.

The new figure was released by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) which said 1,486 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period.

In total 114,451 tests have been carried out since February 29.

One new Covid-19 case registered in Latvia past 24 hours


RIGA, June 6 (LETA) - In the past 24 hours, there was one new Covid-19 case recorded in Latvia, according to the information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

With 1,074 Covid-19 tests made in the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 tests in Latvia has thus grown to 116,535 and confirmed Covid-19 cases to 1,086. Also, 781 Covid-19 patients have recovered and 25 people have died of the illness.

Of the 11 patients currently receiving treatment in hospital, eight are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases. A total of 166 coronavirus patients have been discharged from hospitals.
