The woman caught the virus in a town in northern Italy near the Swiss border. She was in Italy with a tourist group from February 29 to March 7.




The woman returned to Latvia on an airBaltic flight from Milan on Saturday. There were a total of 39 passengers on the flight, including 25 from Latvia.

Latvia has canceled trains Kiev-Riga train No.31/32 (with departure from Kiev from 16 March and from Riga from 17 March), and the Minsk-Riga cars as part of train service No.31/32 (with departure from Minsk and Riga on 17 March) and Minsk-Riga train No.87/88 (with departure from Minsk on 18 March and from Riga on 19 March).



Passengers can return unused tickets for canceled trains at ticket offices without paying additional fees

A further 13 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Latvian territory, raising the total number of cases from 111 on Friday to 124 on Saturday.

The new figure was released by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) which said that of 1,241 tests during the previous 24-hour period, 13 were positive. It is the highest number of daily tests yet carried out.

In total 4,446 tests have been carried out since February 29.

It should be noted that so far no fatalities as a result of COVID-19 have been reported in Latvia.

The number of infection cases with Covid-19 in Latvia has reached 197. Lithuanian media report 179 confirmed infection cases, with 112 in Vilnius and 32 in Klaipeda.

The latest data for Estonia details 369 confirmed infection cases.

So far a total of 6 807 examinations of potential Covid-19 infections have been performed in Latvia. 17 cases were found yesterday, as reported by the Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre (SPKC).

RIGA - With 29 more people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Latvia has grown to 376, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
During the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 patients in Latvia increased by 8 percent, according to LETA's estimates. Last week, the daily Covid-19 incidence ranged between 8 percent and 13 percent. In the two other Baltic states, Covid-19 cases grew at a less even rate. In Estonia, the daily rate of increase was in the range from 5 percent to 25 percent and in Lithuania from 10 percent to 31 percent.
Of the 29 Covid-19 patients that are being treated in hospital, 25 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases, which means the patients have pneumonia and need ventilation...
