isolating cities

Re: isolating cities

#39:
"... caught the Spanish Flu, despite being confined to the hills for months at a time. Apparently at the time, this concept was generally accepted.

I think those young men may have found a way to occasionally visit some lady friends in towns. :D"

Maybe the ladies goes uphills to the folks, but that's not necessarily true.
Maybe they caught it from the air ...

From IOH's post on state planning, here are 2 of the plans states are to have in place. I'm curious to see any state's #22.

21. Nonpharmaceutical interventions are used to reduce the spread of an infectious disease without use of pharmaceutical products such as vaccines. Examples of nonpharmaceutical interventions include isolation and treatment with influenza antiviral medications, voluntary home quarantine, dismissal of students from school and school-based activities, and use of social distance measures to reduce contact between adults in the community and workplace.

22. A community containment plan includes community-level interventions designed to limit the transmission of a pandemic virus.

now I remember a study about this. With an infected farm by avian flu
and they sent a team to examine spread of disease by wind to
other distant measuring points.
They had a mobile team, building a tent. Hmm, maybe they did
even create the wind.

It should be somewhere in the forums, maybe from 2006 ?
I'll try to find it.

Is it this Canadian study we were talking about? The one where they tested the sawdust that was blowing in the air...

Re: isolating cities

In Canada, four years ago, the Generalresponsable of Interior Military Intervention after worked inIreland to reach Peace with Britain describe quite righly about, Big Cities, Suburbs, Toutistic Regions and Remote Commuities.

Here's from Memory my Recall of it;

First the communication towards urban would to reassure them with some guidances, second implementing Distributions of essentials food, etc.. in predertermine points in the big city and close the major exits of it.

In suburbs

With localities who are ready to implement quarantine 10 days periods sites.
Some suburbs, will no be able to do this for various reasons.

The third Range

With less Military support they will have to manage the incoming traffic with their local consensus. (We expect some extreme behavior in that range, but they will be able by complying to inherited of resources from the remote Communities.

As for the Fourth Range, they will be stimulate to give a hand to, the Third Range, The Suburds and the Big Cities with their Resources and Services.
