It's not clear to me that these two kids are neighbors of the Praise children. The other people listed in this article seem to be, but I'm not 100% sure about these two new kids.vaffie said:If I understand correctly, these two kids are the neighbors of the Praise children. Additionally, two others in the area are being tested. Nine samples (in total?) have been sent.
vaffie said:Sorry, Stormsailor, but not exactly. This is almost 1,300 miles from the big H2H cluster. They were reporting human cases in this area long before that cluster too. Attention is growing because there are more obvious cases, not because anyone is showing any more attention. In fact, the contrary.
1. AP referred to should be Anang Prayesoto 18/M who had been reported earlier here.
2. it appears to me that, solely on my interpretation of the translation below, AP is the student of 30 year old (gender unknown) Pucang Young who is now dead.
3. which i shall therefore, infer that Pucang Young is a teacher.
4. if that is the case, and keeping in mind that Anang Prayesoto is 18 years old he'll have, at best, casual contact with pucang young.
5. Anang Prayesoto was hospitalized on 17th May according to this post.
6. pucang young died 19th may. it'll be useful to find out her onset. anyone?
7. now, both pucang young and anang prayesoto appear to be from a school in kediri, which is where our massive cluster was from.
7. i hope that they've tested the school surroundings and the other students, assuming that pucang young and anang prayesoto are from the same school.
8. if no source is identified and they share a common window of transmission, assuming, among other things, that both are confirmed positive, this may well be our first instance of casual transmission.
9. something is happening in kediri, i think, the RKZ Hospital. we've had 2 nurses there suspected of contracting the H5N1 as well as an older brother of 1 of either AP or pucang young, i think.
