Commonground has noted that the positive results from the rapid test in Malang may refer to poultry rather than a positive results for BASS (post #97). Toggletext translation of a portion of the link posted by Dutchy indicates that the positive results were from Barman (Bar, BASS) but may be a different influenza A virus rather than H5N1.

..... With the clinical condition that membaki as well as the occurrence of the leucocytosis, the possibility of only infections bakteriil normally.
Could be this patient only experiences the low respiratory tract infection normally, said Gatoet.
Moreover that was reinforced by results of the photograph thorax that showed his condition was clean or clear.
On last Wednesday (20/2), through rapid test the A virus of type influenza, Barman positive.
This A virus of type influenza according to Gatoet was the influenza virus that often attacked humankind.
However the condition he not necessarily was affected H5N1.
Because the influenza virus could have three kinds that is the A type, B, and C. Tinggal we just wait confirmation produced by the laboratory test that was sent to Labkesda in Surabaya, said Gatoet.....

From Kalimantan

The family Objects Bird Flu

The family of Darline, 21 yo residents RT 3 Penajam districts, Penajam the Utara Compass (PPU) that died stated, casualties died not was caused by the bird flu virus (avian influenza).

Uptil now casualties indeed had the illness like breathless since still in South Sulawesi.

Frankly we the family did not receive if Darlina it was said died because of the assumption of bird flu. Not there is that!

I as the older brother from casualties ask for to friends of the media to mengklarikasi that not dying not because of bird flu, said the older brother Darlina, M. Idris with the high tone, on Saturday (23/2).

Idris was not convinced casualties left because of bird flu, everything for the last month did not have even one kept animals including the chicken that died suddenly.

Moreover he has checked three RT around the Darlina house to look for the chicken that died. "But evidently was not available."

In fact the bird flu would be contaminated from the animal to humankind.
We also felt restless because with the existence of information like that, the resident around here began to be worried, he said.

Idris surprised with the existence of the statement from the doctor in RSUD PPU that the mother of one child died because suspect bird flu.

In fact to learn casualties died because of bird flu must through the blood test that was carried out in Jakarta.

Moreover continued Idris, the family will also visit the Daerah Public Hospital (RSUD), on Monday (25/2) tomorrow to ask the explanation to be related to the decision of the hospital side that reconciled casualties towards Balikpapan through kilometre 38 A Paku.

"In fact will have the ferry and speedboat belonging to Dinkes that could deliver to the Balikpapan hospital."

Why through kilometre 38 that must be followed while 3.5 hours could just arrive at Balikpapan.

If my brother/sister through the ferry or speed boat possibly his life still could be helped, stressed the member DPRD PPU from this III Commission.

In the meantime, the Executive the Task (Plt) the Head of the Pemberantasan Field of infectious diseases and the Health of the Environment (P4L) the Kesehatan Service (Diskes) the astrologer the Utara Compass (PPU) Doctor Andi Ariani said, late still could not be said died because suspect bird flu.

Because the characteristics of the death of casualties were the same as dengue fever.

I have also given the explanation to the side kelurga that might not be frightened, because not necessarily bird flu.

Everything will around his house not have the chicken or the kept animal that died suddenly, said Andi that visited the Darlina house.

Whereas the Head of Diskes Doctor Arnold Wayong said, the sample of blood late will be sent to Jakarta to know whether that was relevant died because of bird flu or not.

Arnold admitted to according to the diagnosis of the internal disease doctor in RSUD indeed finding the existence sign-gejalah suspect bird flu.
We will be frightened robbed.

If later results of the laboratory of Jakarta said that our negative thank heavens, he said.

Update from Malang, Java

Menengok Penderita Suspect Flu Burung Sel Darah Putih Normal, Barman Pulang Senin

Sunday, 24 February 2008

Malang-Sudah empat hari Barman Anang Setiaji, 16, warga Dusun Bumirejo, Desa Kebobang, Kecamatan Wonosari, Kabupaten Malang, menempati ruang isolasi pasien flu burung RSSA Malang.

Sedikit demi sedikit kondisi Barman terus membaik.

Evaluasi

From Riau: Health Service distributes 80.000 tablets of Tamiflu

Diskes Distribusikan 80 Ribu Tablet Tamiflu

Sebanyak 80 ribu tablet tamiflu didistribusikan Dinas Kesehatan Riau untuk 16 rumah sakit swasta. Tahap awal 50 ribu diserahkan. Sisanya segera menyusul.
