Not directly bf related, but apparently the hospitals have (not surprisingly) been pretty busy over the holiday week. Here's a report from Tulungagung where the local polyclinics have been closed during the holiday....

TUUNGAGUNG - Lebaran, RSUD Dr Iskak Tulungagung the patient's harvest. For three post-Lebaran days, the hospital belonging to the Tulungagung Regional Government received 240 patients more.
In fact, in general the normal day, the number pasein in three days did not reach 200 people. That too was served by 12 polyclinics.
However for 240 post-Lebaran patients was handled UGD. That because of the holiday polyclinic a week. Untungnya, the patient that visited the hospital in Street Wahidin Sudiro Husodo suffered was sick light. Like the cough, asthma, the fever, diarrhoea and minor illnesses lai him.
But the reason for the polyclinic was closed for one week, the patients were shifted to UGD. Was not wrong, space most front that was made the place of the first time accepted the serious patient the emergency was filled with the patient's queue. Because of the number of patients, the paramedic could the bustle. It was lucky, the paramedic could overcome him so as the jump could be handled quickly and in a preceptive manner.

Migrating flocks declared H5N1-free

A surveillance study conducted over the past year by the Forestry Ministry has found that migrating flocks of birds are not carrying strains of avian influenza.
The H5N1 virus has so far only been found in either domesticated or farming poultry, says the Forestry Ministry's conservation for biological resources director, Adi Susmiyanto.
The ministry has been studying migratory and wild birds in locations and clusters prone to bird flu in the hopes of identifying the prevalence of the virus in the wild fowls.
"We will cull the birds as soon as we find any that are infected with bird flu. So far we have killed three domesticated muscovy ducks in Indramayu, West Java," he said Thursday.
Adi said his team, which consists of 15 bird flu experts, worked independently of the National Committee for Avian Influenza Control and Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (Komnas FBPI).
NGOs including the Animal Conservation Network, Birdlife and Wetland International, have bolstered the surveillance program by sending their own personnel to help.
"Hopefully next year we will get funding from the 2007 National Forestry Budget, but this time the money came from Wetlands International," Adi said.
The surveillance team conducted intensive research from January to September this year in Tritis beach in Yogyakarta and Eretan beach in Indramayu.
The team catches the birds, takes a blood sample, tags them and then releases them. Of 334 birds tested in Indramayu, only three were found to be infected.
"We plan to do another phase of surveillance from October to December in Rambut Island in the Thousand Islands, Tangerang, Banten, Wonorejo beach in Surabaya, Gresik in East Java and Sayung beach in Demak, Central Java," Adi said. (03)
