Hindustan Team, Gorakhpur
Last updated: Mon, 24 Jun 2019 02:15 AM IST
Scrub tophus is not responsible for the outbreak of encephalitis in the off-season in eastern UP. I
n the BRD Medical College, scrub toefus has been confirmed in only one of the 80 patients admitted so far this year. This was revealed in the NIV report.
Since January this year, 90 patients suffering from encephalitis have been admitted to BRD Medical College. Out of these 80 samples of blood and spinal water (serum) of patients were sent to NIV for examination. Recently the NIV released the report. There have been shocking revelations in this report. In scrutiny of NIV, only one of the patients got scrub toefus. In another investigation, researchers could not come to a concrete conclusion. Both patients are from Gorakhpur. Scrub toifus has not been found in 78 patients examined by the NIV.
In 2017, 60 percent of the patients had scrub toefus: In the year 2017, 60 percent of encephalitis patients had confirmed scrub toefus. After this, the doctors of ICMR and BRD gave scrub tophus as the main reason for encephalitis. It declined in the year 2018. Scrub toefus was found in about 40 percent of patients. The government also directed to give antibiotics of doxycycline or azithromycin to patients of AAES compulsorily in all hospitals in Purvanchal.
Scrub tophus is a disease caused by bacteria
It is a disease caused by bacteria. This bacteria occurs in the saliva of a particular type of insect. This worm lives in large grasslands, the bodies of mice or squirrels. It is also called Chillar. When this insect bites small children, the bacteria gets into the blood of children through saliva.
This is the symptom
In this, fever is high in children. The fever lasts for seven to 14 days. With pain in the head and muscles, rash comes out on the body. In some cases, the patient also gets a shock. The disease also affects the functioning of vital organs in the patient's body. This can also result in the death of the patient.
Version
Scrub toefus is not the main cause of encephalitis in Purvanchal. If scrutiny of general public, scrub toefus will be found in five percent. Scrub toefus neither occurs to children on such a large scale nor does it have such a high mortality rate. This theory was introduced to confuse the public and the government. Exact treatment of scrub toefus exists.

Azola grass will help end Japanese encephalitis, know what is special in it

The Japanese Encephalitis, which wreaks havoc on innocent people every year in eastern UP, will now end with grass. This grass is azolla. Experts from the Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC) will eradicate mosquitoes causing Encephalitis through Ezola. For this, sensitive villages of encephalitis are being selected in Gorakhpur and Deoria.
Japanese encephalitis is caused by the fluvi virus in children. The carrier of this virus is boar or heron. Humans get this disease from Culex mosquito bites. This mosquito is found in paddy fields. When a mosquito sucks the blood of a swine or heron, viruses get into its body. When this mosquito sucks the blood of humans, the virus enters the human body.
Breeding of mosquitoes takes place in a paddy field,
Dr. Rajinikanth Srivastava, director of RMRC at BRD Medical College, said that female Culex mosquitoes lay eggs only in paddy fields in stagnant water. This is the reason that the disease outbreak is highest in such villages where there are large paddy fields adjacent to the village limits.
Azolla will not allow Culex mosquitoes to flourish.
He said that the life cycle of Culex mosquito is on the upper surface of the water. Mosquito eggs live on the upper surface of the water. Larvae are formed there. Azolla grass also spreads rapidly on the upper surface of the water. The pressure of the grass will destroy the mosquito eggs in the lower surface of the water. Their life cycle will break. It will be used in the most susceptible villages of encephalitis in Gorakhpur and Deoria. For this, farmers who cultivate paddy will be trained.
Fertilizer and fodder will also be
made.Azola has many benefits. Due to this, the amount of nitrogen in the field increases. This may increase paddy production by up to 15 per cent. Feeding of milch animals increases milk production. Farmers can use it in poultry and fisheries.
Azola is like algae.
He said that Azola is an aquatic plant. It is a fern similar to algae. Anabina is found in its petals. It produces nitrogen by synthesizing sunlight like chlorophyll.
Encephalitis, which has been wreaking havoc
for 47 years, has been causing havoc for 47 years in western Bihar and Nepal, along with 32 districts of Purvanchal. The disease mostly affects adolescents and children under 16 years of age. Nearly 10,000 patients have died of this disease in BRD Medical College in five decades. About 40 thousand patients have been disabled.

Governance sought report from Deoria's CMO on encephalitis
In Deoria government hospitals, the case of encephalitis patients is not being admitted. The government has summoned a report in this matter from the CMO. Director Communicable Disease has also written a strong letter to the CMO seeking detailed information about the whole matter.
Your own newspaper 'Hindustan' recently published news in this matter.
It was told that till the last week of June, only one patient with encephalitis was admitted to the district hospital of Deoria, while every seventh patient admitted to BRD Medical College was of Deoria. After the news was published in Hindustan, the ears of the government stood up. A team of governance can reach Deoria to investigate the matter. The information about the encephalitis patients is also reaching CM Yogi Adityanath. In Deoria, CM was surprised to see the sudden decrease in the number of encephalitis patients and when he asked the officers about this, he put the whole matter in front. After the strictness of the CM, the sword of action is hanging on the responsible in this case.
Deoria is sensitive to encephalitis
Deoria district is considered sensitive from the perspective of encephalitis. It has a 15-bed ICU to treat children suffering from encephalitis. There are 17 Encephalitis Treatment Centers (ETCs) in the district.
By the last week of June, 96 patients suffering from encephalitis were admitted to BRD Medical College. Deoria had 15 innocent people among them. Two of them died. The families of three innocent people are undergoing treatment at KGMU in Lucknow, 300 km away. At the same time, only one patient was admitted in the district hospital.
There were 265 patients marked in 2018.
Last year too, encephalitis caused havoc in Deoria. In 2018, 265 innocent people were hit by it. Of these, 19 died. Japanese encephalitis was detected in 16 innocent people in the district. As of June 30 last year, 168 patients were admitted to the government hospital in Deoria.
