In 14 hours, 14 died in BRD Medical College in the last 24 hours. There are nine innocent recruits in the new ICU while there are five children admitted in the pediatric ICU. Two of these five were patients of Inseflitis.

Among those who died of Incephalitis, ten years of Kushinagar Kiran and 12 years of Siddhartha Nagar Arun are included. Those recruited include Gorakhpur's seven, Kushinagar, Siddhartha Nagar and Santacbirnagar three-three, two in the settlement and one in Baliya. In Nehru Hospital, 133 patients of Incephalitis are undergoing treatment. Since January this year, 1016 patients have been admitted to BRD Medical College, out of which 216 have been killed.

Siddharthnagar: A 14-year-old boy died from Insefalitis in village Gram Bithya Art under Bhavniganj Thanant. Village resident self Defense Ram Gautam's son Arun Kumar Gautam had high fever four days ago. Local treatment was done, but when there was no improvement in the condition. He was sent to the District Hospital for the settlement. Where the health continued to worsen. From there onwards, the doctors referred to the Gorakhpur Medical College on Monday. The child was taken to the Gorakhpur Medical College by immediate family members. Where the encephalitis was confirmed. He died on Tuesday night during treatment.

In 18 hours, 18 died in BRD Medical College in the last 24 hours. These include recruitment of newborn ICUs 11 and seven children recruited in Pediatric ICU. In these seven children, three children were suffering from encephalitis.

Among those who died of Incephalitis, the ten year victory of Maharajganj, three years of Dewaria, Dinesh and 5-year-old AYUSH, 30 year old Sarita is admitted to Medicine Ward.

During this, a total of 13 patients were recruited, in which four of Deoria, three in Gorakhpur, two in Satkabinagar and two in Bihar and one in Kusinagar and one in Patiala. There are 128 patients admitted in Nehru Hospital. Since January this year, 1029 patients have been admitted to BRD Medical College, 220 of whom have died.

Difficult to rehabilitate the people of encephalitis

Gorakhpur: In the BRD Medical College, due to infections of the children, there has been a lot of difficulty in rehabilitation of divorced children. The staff posted here has not received honorarium for 28 months. The employees requested the officers many times but the hearing was not done.

According to the Medical College representative, 14 employees were deployed in the year 2010 for the rehabilitation of the people from Insefalitis in Medical College in 2010. The central government had deployed these employees for three years with the condition that the state government would later start the process for permanent appointment. For this, the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between the Center and the State Government. After three years of completion, the central government gave two years and honorarium but after April 2015 the honorarium got stopped. According to the rules, the state government had to start the process of appointment but it did not happen. Meanwhile, the staff continued to work and rehabilitated many Divya children. The employees have also sent a letter to the Union Health Minister, J.P. Nadda in this regard. They have been asked to adjust to PMR (Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).

Dr. Ramashankar Shukla, Chief Superintendent of BRD Medical College said that he is new now, no information is available. I will know why not get honorable.

Three doctors have left the job

Due to lack of honorarium, three doctors posted in the rehabilitation center have left the job. Despite not being doctors, the employees are contributing in the rehabilitation of the patients with utmost diligence. Till now thousands of patients have been rehabilitated.

Honorarium of 250 Contract Workers Stuck

The honorarium of July and August months of 250 contract workers deployed by the National Health Mission in the BRD Medical College has been stuck. The responsibility of the honorarium of contractual employees was on the clerk Sanjay Tripathi and Uday Sharma. Both of them are currently locked in jail. Dr. O. Pandey, the drawing-delivery officer of the college, has the key to the hostel but he has not been allowed to open the cupboard. Dr. Pandey has sent a letter to the police station and principal of Gulariha and asked for permission to open the cupboard.

Gorakhpur: 14 died in 24 hours in the Department of Pediatrics of BRD Medical College. There are three infections in it. During this 18 new patients were recruited.

According to the Medical College representative, those who died of Insepflitis include Amarjeet (27 years) of Gorakhnath, Anjali (10 years) of Mewaria and AYUSH of Ambedkar Nagar (four years). Among the admitted patients, four people of Gorakhpur, six from Kusinagar, one in Sant Kabirnagar, one in the settlement, three from Deoria, one in Bihar, one from Ambedkar Nagar and one from Maharajganj. This year, 223 deaths have been reported from INSephalitis in BRD Medical College. 1047 patients were admitted. At present, 121 patients suffering from Inseflitis have been undergoing treatment.

Gorakhpur: 15 children died in 24 hours in BRD Medical College. Among the deceased, there are nine children recruited in the six newborn and Piediatric ICU recruited in the newly born ICU. Two of these nine infections were inpatient.

Among those who died of Incephalitis, two-and-a-half-year-old faiyas of the treasury, five years of Sant Kabirnagar and the recruitment of Medicina Ward, include 65 year old cousadder. During this 21 new patients were recruited in which there are seven-seven in Gorakhpur and Kushinagar, three in Maharajganj and one each from Deoria, Sant Kobirnagar, Siddharthanagar and Bihar. 129 patients admitted to different wards of Nehru Hospital are undergoing treatment. Since January this year, 1065 patients have been admitted to BRD Medical College, out of which 226 have been killed.

CM: Lack of research made encephalitis major killer

LUCKNOW: Blaming lack of research for encephalitis becoming a major threat to lives of people in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and parts of Bihar, chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi asked director of SGPGIMS to send a research team to Gorakhpur to identify causes of the disease that manifests as brain fever.
The chief minister said, "Nobody paid due attention to the disease till 1977 and doctors kept dismissing it as an unknown killer disease. Had its causes been studied, we would have come a long way in its treatment." Yogi insisted SGPGIMS take up research in the eastern, central, western and Bundelk hand parts of the state to find out causes and treatment of the disease.

Comment: The CM may not be aware of recent research showing that encephalitis patients have been linked with high rates of positivity for Scrub Typhus. I'm also happy to fact check his claim of reduced encephalitis deaths this year. See the post immediately before this - While fewer cases have been seen at BRD this year, the case fatality rate is within the range seen in the previous 6 years. The number of cases this year is much higher than usual, but the numbers of fatalities has remained about the same. As a result the cfr has dropped. Why have the numbers increased so much this year? Perhaps due to the inclusion of scrub typhus patients in the case definition? Who knows. Historically, most patients are referred to BRD but, this year, it seems like half of the cases are not making it there. That's unusual. Has UP suddenly improved primary care and is curing more patients before they deteriorate significantly? That is possible given that there should be a new treatment regimen in place for scrub typhus. There's no way of knowing the answer to this because I'm not at all sure that anybody is monitoring to see if the scrub typhus treatments are even being performed.

Another very real possibility is that parents are bringing their children home to die, rather than to BRD because of the ongoing exposure of the dysfunction of that hospital after the oxygen crisis in August. Any deaths at home would not be compiled in the official statistics.

The per cent of patients testing positive for JE has not changed much this decade in spite of any vaccination campaigns. I suspect that many patients remain untested. - Ro

24 children died in BRD Medical College in the last 48 hours. These include recruitment of newborn ICUs 11 and 13 children admitted to PiedriTIC ICU. Of the 13 out of these, 7 were inpatient patients.

Among those who died of Incephalitis, two year old Ragini of Gorakhpur, two years of Aman, five and a half years old, Arjuna of one and a half years, 55 year old Kamawati, one year of Faizan of Kushinagar, 10 years of Amravati, two years of lotus of Siddhartha Nagar And 30-year-old Gayatri of Bihar. Those recruited are ten in Gorakhpur, six in Kushinagar, 11 from Deoria, two in Basti, Bihar and Santakbirnagar and one each from Siddhartha Nagar and Mau. A total of 1103 patients have been admitted from BRD Medical College till January 1 of which 235 have been killed. 133 patients admitted in Nehru Hospital are undergoing treatment.

4 more kids die of encephalitis in Gorakhpur, toll rises to 243
Gorakhpur, Sept 20 (UNI) After deaths of four more children due to encephalitis in Baba Raghav Das Medical college here today, death toll rises to 243.
According to official sources, the children, who died belonged to Sidharthnagar, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj and Deoria districts.
Sources said that 1140 patients of encephalitis were admitted in BRD medical college since last January 1, 243 of them have been died due to decease till date. 25 new patients were admitted in hospital today, while 133 patients were getting treatment.

Doctors believe that while there is no sunlight or light, swine flu viruses not only spread, but also attack people by becoming stronger. If symptoms appear, then immediate doctors should go to the doctor immediately after treatment. The health department has issued alerts regarding swine flu. 65 fever deaths in TN this year

CHENNAI: Fever deaths in Tamil Nadu touched 65, more than double the number of cases in 2016, raising concerns among public health experts across the state.
According to the directorate of public health, while 16 people died of H1N1, an equal number of them died due to dengue. Besides, there were 33 more deaths due to meningitis, encephalitis and leptospirosis. Around the same time last year, there were three dengue deaths and three H1N1 casualties.

Comment: To Aug 31 this year, Tamil Nadu has reported 659 cases of AES to the NVBDCP of which 22 were tested positive for JE. Astonishingly, not a single fatality has been recorded. The above article implies that some fatalities have in fact occurred that, for whatever reason, are not making it as far as the national statistics. - Ro

Gorakhpur: Five deaths due to insufficiency in 24 hours in BRD Medical College During this 20 patients were admitted.

According to the Medical College representative, the deceased include Foolmati (65 years) of Bihar, Bihar addressless (seven years), Kushinagar's Golu (four years), the joy of the Campfireganj of Gorakhpur (one year), Sigra of Siddharthnagar (six years) Are there. Even as the recalcitrant dengue and chikungunia viruses have continued attacking the people in Bihar, the detection of fresh cases of Japanese encephalitis (JE) has added to the worries of the health planners and doctors in the state.

What has disturbed doctors the most that even persons who have been immunised against the JE virus, have been afflicted by the life threatening disease. Two such cases have been detected in Patna district, of which one patient succumbed to the vector-borne infection.

11 deaths in two days from [encephalitis]

Gorakhpur: There is a continuation of deaths due to Insefitis in Purvanchal. In the last two days, 31 new patients were admitted in the BRD Medical College and 11 others died. 129 patients admitted to Nehru Hospital are undergoing treatment.

Those who have died, three years of Kushinagar's Pritam, three years of ideal, four years of Golu, two-and-a-half year old Shivangi, 15 years old Suraj, four years of Sant Kobirnagar, Rajan, 21 year old Anushka, 15 year old Pawan of Maharajganj, one and a half Radhika of the year and Anjali, 11, and Anmol, five years of Bihar.

During this 31 new patients were recruited. Among them are seven-seven in Gorakhpur and Kushinagar, four in Deoria, Siddharthanagar, Santakbirnagar and Maharajganj and three-three settlements and one patient of Mau. Since January 1 this year, 1226 patients have been admitted in Medical College, out of which 265 have been killed.

Comment: 255 deaths were reported at BRD to Sep 24. These 11 deaths would raise the toll to 266. I'm not sure why the number quoted is one lower. An additional 32 encephalitis fatalities have occurred at facilities other than BRD bringing the state toll to 297. - Ro

16 killed in 24 hours in BRD

In the last 24 hours, 16 more innocent people died in BRD Medical College. Of these, eight children were admitted to newborn ICU while eight were in the pediatric ICU. The patients recruited in the PICU were two patients of Insephalitis.

These include the one-and-half year old Arshad of Gorakhpur and seven-year-old Lakshmina of Kushinagar. Those recruited during this period, there are two patients in Gorakhpur and Deoria, five from Kushinagar, four in Maharajganj and one each from Sant Kabir Nagar, Gonda, Bihar and Siddhartha Nagar. Still, 119 patients admitted in different wards are undergoing treatment. Since January this year, 1243 patients have been admitted to BRD Medical College, out of which 267 have died.

In 12 hours, 12 died in BRD Medical College in the last 24 hours. Of these, six children were admitted to newborn ICU while six others were admitted to Piedraic ICU. The PICUs had three infections in patients with three infections. [3 patients with encephalitis - Ro]

These included six years of Aastha of Basti, Kushinagar's twelve-year-old Aarti and nine-year-old Kishan of Deoria. During this, 25 new patients of INSaphylites were admitted. These include five of Gorakhpur, seven in Deoria, four in Maharajganj, three from Kushinagar and Basti, two in Bihar and one in Siddhartha Nagar. 131 patients admitted in Nehru Hospital are undergoing treatment. Since January this year, 1268 patients have been admitted to BRD Medical College, out of which 270 have been killed.

In the past 24 hours, 16 victims of BRD Medical College were killed. There were seven deaths in the newborn ICU while nine children died in pediatric ICU. Four of those who died in the PICU were suffering from encephalitis.

These include seven years old Rashtrapati of Kushinagar, Shivkumar of 16 years of Gorakhpur, Kumkum of seven years of Siddhartha Nagar and eight years of Raj of Maharajganj. During this 27 new patients were recruited. These include four of Gorakhpur, five of Siddhartha Nagar, four in Deoria, two in Maharajganj, seven in Kushinagar, three from Bihar and one each from Balrampur and Gonda. Nehru Hospital has been treating 142 patients. As many as 1295 patients have been admitted from BRD Medical College till January 1 of which 274 have been killed.
