Gorakhpur (JnN). The death of children in Baba Raghavdas (BRD) Medical College Paidiatric Ward was not stopped. During the last 24 hours, 13 more victims died in the ward during treatment. Among the dead, eight of NICU and five patients of PICU are included. Among them, only one innocent patient was suffering from encephalitis. During this, 59 new patients were admitted in the pediatric ward of the college.


During the last 24 hours, 27 new patients of Insefitis were admitted to the Medical College. These include six in Gorakhpur, four each in Bihar and Maharajganj, three each from Deoria, Siddharthanagar and Sant Kabbir Nagar and one each from Balia and settlement. Till this year, 787 INSEFLITS patients have come to the medical college for treatment. 182 of them died. The only child to die during the last 24 hours was Nikki, who was a resident of the Bargadvan Maharajganj. 118 Infephitis patients are still undergoing treatment in the ward.

Now at 12 o'clock in the night, the
Medical College administration of Inseflitis has changed the timing of reporting of Insefalitis. Now this reporting will happen at 12 noon instead of 9 in the morning. This has been done due to the problem of recruitment of entire childhood ward and saving the data of death.

In fact, the time for the recruitment and death report of the whole pediatric department is at 12:00 PM. In this way, the entire record was having trouble balancing the record of encephalitis ward. Principal Dr. PK Singh said that according to the new timeline, from Friday onwards, the reporting of encephalitis will be done.

Gorakhpur: A series of deaths in the children's disease ward of BRD Medical College is going on.
Gorakhpur:

There is a continuation of the death of innocent people in the pediatric ward of BRD Medical College. During the last 24 hours, 19 more innocent people died during treatment. The deceased NICU includes Elajrat 13 and six children in the PICU. There are also two patients with encephalitis. During this period, 32 children were recruited in PICU 12 in NICU.

According to the Medical College correspondent, the 10-year-old son of Betiya, Bihar, 10-year-old Pawan of the Chowk of Maharajganj and the 10-year-old are included in those who died of Inseflitis. About one year since January this year, patients of 184 Inphlitis have died during treatment in the medical college. During the last 24 hours, 15 new encephalitis came for treatment. Gorakhpur: If you look at the August data of the pediatric ward of BRD Medical College, in this month, a total of 1613 children were admitted for treatment. Of these, 428 died. He was among nine people named in an FIR last week.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Saturday arrested Dr Kafeel Khan, the former nodal officer at the Department of Paediatrics at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College and Hospital in Gorakhpur in connection with the death of more than 60 children at the facility earlier in August, ANI reported.

Khan and eight others were named in an FIR registered on the orders of the Uttar Pradesh government on August 24. Chief Minister Adityanath had called for criminal action against Khan, Dr Rajeev Mishra and Dr Satish. While Khan was in charge of the acute encephalitis syndrome ward, Mishra is the former principal of BRD Medical College and Hospital. Dr Satish headed the oxygen supply unit and anaesthesia department.

The hospital witnessed several deaths in August due to a lack of oxygen

Data on deaths of children compiled by the Uttar Pradesh government show a sharp drop in casualty figures in the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur this year compared to those in the last three years.

According to the data compiled by the UP health department, made available to PTI, 1,317 children had died in the state-run facility so far this year.

The number of deaths stood at 5,850 in 2014, 6,917 in 2015 and 6,121 in 2016, the department data said.

The data showed the average daily deaths translating to 16 in 2014, 19 in 2015 and 17 in 2016 -- as against 5.3 a day till August this year.

A total of 51,018 children were admitted to the hospital in 2014, 61,295 in 2015 and 60,891 in 2016, according to the data put together by the department and its partner, PATH Foundation, a nonprofit organisation. There were no admission figures for this year.

Kerala has reported 3 fatalities, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat & Maharashtra have all reported 1 fatality each in reports in this thread. Report #140 in this thread told of hundreds of deaths due to encephalitis at RIMS in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The hospital has acknowledged 64 "encephalopathy" deaths, but without any specified causation (see below). In total this amounts to 647 fatalities so far this year. As always, I am dubious about these official figures. Some states like Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Manipur & Karnataka have large numbers of cases, but seem to report few fatalities. - Ro

Of 4,855 infants and children admitted in all wards between January 1 and August 28, 660 died. Professor (Dr) BL Sherwal, the director and administrative head of RIMS, said these records for all infants and children’s wards, for both general and intensive care, showed a mortality of 13.5% which was “similar to last year”. Sherwal declined to share or publish the data on mortality in the paediatrics ward over the past year, or the previous years’ figures, which would allow comparison between this year’s mortality versus earlier.

Gorakhpur, Sept 12 (UNI) After the deaths of three more children suffering from encephalitis in Baba Raghav Das Medical college here today, the toll rose to 214.
Official sources said here that the deceased were from Kushinagar, Gorakhpur and Maharajganj districts.
Sources said that 977 patients of encephalitis were admitted to BRD medical college since January and 214 of them died so far.
