Tourist dies of heat-stroke at Taj Mahal

A 53-year-old woman tourist from Bangalore succumbed to a heat-stroke at the Taj Mahal Monday, police said.
"Sudha came to Agra with a 50-member group. She had fever. But today (Monday) she could not bear the heat and collapsed. Her body has been sent for post-mortem," Sushant Gaur, station officer, Tourist Thana, told media persons.

Countryside Village police station area residents Ftpurwa Bhuluwa (70) Friday night, from heat stroke were admitted to district hospital. Sunday morning she died during treatment. Monday before the half dozen people Bberu, atarra, Jaspura etc. have died under the grip of Lu. Use plenty of water before going in the sun much. Khan - Pan also requires caution. Cooler, the AC went out immediately to avoid the sun.

Pilgrim dies of cardiac arrest

Phagwara, July 3
A pilgrim, Kasbal Kundal Swami (50), of Trimul in Tamil Nadu on his way back from Amarnath Yatra died due to a cardiac arrest at Chachoki village near Phagwara this afternoon.

He was returning from the pilgrimage in a jatha and the pilgrims? bus halted at a dhaba to provide light refreshment to the pilgrims, when the man collapsed. He was immediately admitted to the local Civil Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The cause of the death was described as cardiac arrest due to excessive heat, doctors said.

The intense heat wave in the region has claimed 28 lives in Bathinda so far. Most of the deceased are reportedly youngsters addicted to various habit-forming substances.

While most of the residents choose to remain indoors to avoid getting a heat stroke, drug addicts, the homeless and the elderly have become victims of the searing heat.

As per a city-based NGO that sends its volunteers to help the poor, most of those who lost their lives to the scorching heat have been youngsters addicted to one or the other drug.

Mathura: Three pilgrims were on Tuesday killed and at least eight were taken ill due to intense heat during the ongoing pilgrimage at Govardhan hillock in the district.
They were performing circumambulation of the hillock when they collapsed due to dehydration.

Bhind (MP), Jul 4 (PTI) Heatwave has claimed seven lives in Bhind district since yesterday, where temperature has touched the 47 deg Celsius mark, official sources said today.

It has been confirmed by government doctors that the deceased, aged between 45 and 75 years, died because of excessive heat, they said.

Heat wave claims 6 lives in Amritsar

Amritsar, July 4
Heat wave continues to claim lives with six more deaths reported in the city in the past three days. Police reports reveal that the death toll due to scorching heat has touched 30 in the holy city.

Most of the victims are yet to be identified. The police said three of them seemed to be beggars while one was a drug addict.

The six recent victims include an unidentified person who was under treatment at a local hospital.
