[h=1]KEELPNO: Seasonal flu death toll climbs to 93[/h] The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) has announced that 93 people have died so far as a result of the seasonal outbreak of the flu.
Additionally, KEELPNO noted that over 100 remain hospitalized in intensive care units. Since the start of the year, a total of 263 have received treatment at the intensive care units.
Experts claim the seasonal outbreak of the H1N1 flu virus has peaked and as such the number of cases is gradually expected to decline over the next few weeks.
Nevertheless, KEELPNO has warned that that majority of the population in Greece has not be inoculated this season and has urged vulnerable groups (such as the elderly) to take the necessary precautions and seek inoculation.

According to the Hellenic Center for Disease Control & Prevention (KEELPNO) in the last 24 hours 102 new cases came up out of which 30 are children. Ninety-two people of the newest cases are on support, whereas ten were rushed to the ER. One hundred and ten patients are being treated in the High Intensity Unit, whereas about 320 patients have been treated in total.
According to specialists, the virus is still at a high peak with the virus AH1N1 targeting old people, children and teenagers.

? During week 5/2016 (01-07 February 2016), the doctor visits for flu-like subscription
show a further increase compared to the previous week 4/2016 (Figure 1).
? During week 5/2016 (01-07 February 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories and
Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses total of 713 clinical samples all
from hospitals. 366 (51.3%) of them were positive for influenza viruses, namely 360 (98.4%)
were type A and 6 (1.6%) were type B. The 312 type A strains and all were ypotypopoiithikan
the A subtype (H1N1) pdm (Chart 2).
? From Week 40/2015 through week 5/2016 (01-07 February 2016) reported 292
serious outbreaks of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 274 were hospitalized in ICU
(Table 1, Figure 3). Over the same period they recorded a total of 62 deaths from laboratory
confirmed influenza. The 47 deaths were in patients hospitalized in ICU and 15 to

55 year old dead from H1N1 in Serres hospital

Died in hospital of Serres left four Manufacturer on Thursday 18/2, which she was hospitalized for several days in the intensive care unit, with symptoms of H1N1 flu. Flu cases set to spike as death toll climbs to 132

The death toll in Greece from influenza-related deaths since the start of the flu season in November has reached 132, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control said on Wednesday.

It also said 100 flu patients were currently in intensive care, with the total number of such patients to have been treated in Greek ICUs since November coming to 371.

A and 24 (77.4%) were type-B. The 6 strains of type A ypotypopoiithikan, all belonged to
subtype A (H1N1) pdm09 (Scheme 2).
? From week 40/2015 until week 15/2016 (11-17 April 2016) recorded 433
serious outbreaks of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 406 were hospitalized in ICU
(Table 1, Figure 3). Over the same period they recorded a total of 190 deaths from laboratory
confirmed influenza. The 165 deaths were in patients hospitalized in ICU and 25 in
patient without hospitalization in ICU (Table 1, Figure 4).
? From week 40/2015 until Thursday, April 21, 2016 (15:30), in Greece echoyn
recorded 433 serious cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 406
hospitalized in ICU (Table 2). The same time recorded total 190 deaths
laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 165 deaths related to patients hospitalized in ICU and
25 patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 2).
? Based on the above, the influenza activity in Greece is low, offseason
flat.
