Hi everyone,

After a while away from net due to work, study and flu (at least was mild). News here in Brazil are not focusing on flu anymore.

But I?ve found this:

Paran? state confirmed 256 deaths july 14 and september 28.
Total confirmed is 16.765 (at that state only)

De acordo com boletim divulgado ontem, as mortes ocorreram entre 14 de julho e 28 de setembro. Ao todo, o Estado confirmou 16.765 casos da doen?a.



Segundo o ?rg?o, dos ?bitos registrados, 57% eram mulheres e 43% eram homens. J? quanto ? faixa et?ria, 59,8% das mortes ocorreram em pessoas que tinham entre 20 e 49 anos, 21,1% entre 50 e 59 anos e 9,4% entre 5 e 19 anos.



As regi?es com mais casos confirmados s?o Curitiba e regi?o (5.888), Pato Branco (1.685), Cascavel (1.656), Corn?lio Proc?pio (1.448) e Francisco Beltr?o (1.360). J? as regi?es com maior n?mero de ?bitos s?o Curitiba e regi?o (82), Cascavel (20), Maring? (19), Foz do Igua?u (18), Londrina (12), Campo Mour?o (12), Toledo (12) e Jacarezinho (12).



Ainda segundo a secretaria, dos 16.765 casos confirmados, 605 s?o de gestantes, o que equivale a 3,6%. A regi?o que apresenta o maior n?mero de casos em gestantes ? a regi?o de Curitiba, com 199 casos, seguida pela regi?o de Cascavel (66), Francisco Beltr?o (58) e Corn?lio Proc?pio (48).

SC confirmed eight deaths from influenza A
Disease has killed 91 people in the state, according to Health Department

The Health Department of Santa Catarina confirmed on Tuesday eight more deaths due to influenza A in the state. Altogether 16 deaths were under investigation. Half of these tests were negative for influenza virus A.

The number of confirmed deaths on Tuesday, five patients are more likely complicating the clinical picture. So far, 91 deaths were confirmed on the basis of illness and dismissed 72, initially considered suspicious.

Also been 904 confirmed cases of influenza A in Santa Catarina and disposed of 1054 cases with the use of laboratory tests. Other 4275 still under investigation.

Deaths:

Agron?mica: A woman of 28 years. He began to have symptoms on Sept. 10 and was hospitalized 17 days. Death occurred after two due to acute respiratory failure, pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. She was a patient at risk for being overweight.

Armaz?m: A woman of 50 years. He began to feel ill on 29 August, was hospitalized on September 4 and died the same day. The patient was hypertensive and had the cause of death influenza virus A (H1N1).

Florian?polis: A woman of 55 years. Had the first symptoms on 27 August, was hospitalized three days later and died on September 4. She was the victim of immunosuppression and cancer. The cause of death was septic shock and pneumonia.

Florian?polis: A man of 51 years. He began to have symptoms on 19 August and was hospitalized on 24. The death was the 10th of September for septic shock, acute respiratory syndrome and severe acute respiratory disease. He was not part of any risk.

Maracaj?: A woman of 20 years. She had the first symptoms on 10 September and was hospitalized on 25. He died on September 27 by multiple organ failure, septic shock and severe pneumonia. The patient was pregnant.

Papanduva: A woman of 25 years. Had the first symptoms on 21 September, was hospitalized on 23 and died. She was not part of any risk and death occurred due to pneumonia and influenza-like illness.

Pinhalzinho: A woman of 39 years. She had the first symptoms on 8 September, was hospitalized on 14 and died a day later. The patient was hypertensive and died due to acute respiratory syndrome, pneumonia and influenza A (H1N1).

San Jose: A man of 48 years. He began to have symptoms on 28 August and was hospitalized on September 4. He died on September 29 by nosocomial pneumonia and influenza A (H1N1). She was not part of any risk.

MG confirms 8 more deaths from swine flu; state has 104

The State Secretariat of Health of Minas Gerais confirmed this afternoon, eight more deaths of patients caused by swine influenza (Influenza A). Now the state accounts for 104 deaths.

The confirmed deaths occurred today in the cities of Antonio Carlos, Delfin?polis, Contagem, Januaria, Juatuba, Juiz de Fora, Padre Para?so and Sabara.

According to the secretariat of the total deaths, 100 occurred in mining towns. The remaining four deaths occurred in Pernambuco and Sao Paulo, but according to criteria established by the Ministry of Health, must be registered in the origin of the victims.

It said in addition to the dead, 575 people were infected by the disease in the state. The department said it still investigating 70 other deaths suspected of being caused by swine flu.

Curitiba - The State Department of Health of Paran? confirmed on Thursday seven more deaths from flu. Were also tested nearly a thousand children infected by the virus.

So far, the disease killed 263 people in the state - 147 women and 116 men. The latest confirmed deaths occurred in the Victory, Pato Branco, Cascavel, Campo Mour?o, Umuarama and Curitiba (two).

The metropolitan region of Curitiba is that has the highest number of deaths, 84 in total. Following appear Cascavel (21), Maring? (19), Foz do Igua?u (18), Londrina (13), Campo Mour?o (13), Toledo (12) and Jacarezinho (12).

The deaths occurred between July 14 and October 3. Women are about 56% of the total victims. The age range, 60% of the dead were young, were aged between 20 and 49 years. Another 20% were between 50 and 59 years and 9.5% between 5 and 19 years.

According to the secretariat, the new data place the Paran?, with 17,754 confirmed cases by laboratory tests and clinical criteria. SAO PAULO - The State Department of Health of Rio Grande do Sul confirmed on Thursday four more deaths from Influenza A (H1N1), or swine influenza in the state. With these, up to 194 the number of deaths from the disease in Rio Grande do Sul The deaths occurred between July 21 and August 24.

Four of the fatalities are from Porto Alegre, a man of 60 years, suffering from heart disease and HIV: a woman of 50 years, with mental retardation, and an adolescent of 11 years, a victim of encephalopathy. The fourth victim is St. Angelo, a man of 39 years.

Rio confirmed 10 more deaths from swine flu; State has 109

The Secretariat of Health of Rio de Janeiro confirmed on Thursday a further 10 deaths from flu. With the new cases rise to 109 victims of fatal disease in the state.

According to the secretariat, the deaths recorded occurred between July and August. The court also said that the victims were people who had health problems already existing.

Rio Grande do Sul confirms two more bird flu deaths

There have been 196 deaths from the disease in the state.
Victims died in Santa Rosa.

The Department of Health of Rio Grande do Sul confirmed on Friday (9), two new deaths from flu. In total, there have been 196 deaths from the disease in the state.

According to the Secretariat, the first death occurred on October 3, in Santa Rosa (RS). The victim was a woman of 20 years. She presented the first symptoms of the disease on September 24 and was pregnant.

The second death was a man, 38, who also died in Santa Rosa, on October 8. He presented the first symptoms on 24 September.

RIO BRANCO-The Secretary of State for Health (Sesacre) announced today (13), a new Technical Note Influenza A (H1N1) in Acre. According to the document, so far have been recorded 232 notifications of these, 108 were cases of swine flu were confirmed, with two deaths. Another 33 cases are awaiting test results.

The Secretariat of Health of the State of Acre has prioritized among the cases of flu-like illness, notification, investigation, laboratory diagnosis and treatment of cases of people with risk factors for complications from the disease as children under two and over 60 years of age, pregnant women and patients with chronic diseases.

Bahia has six deaths confirmed by the new flu (H1N1)

The state of Bahia accounts now 6 confirmed deaths by new influenza (H1N1) of the total of 187 cases. Two deaths were in Urandi and the other in Salvador, Guanambi, Cacul? and Feira de Santana. The information was released on Tuesday (13) of the Health Department of the State of Bahia (Sesab).

From April 24 to October 13 this year, were considered as suspected cases in 1257, with 187 confirmed and 839 of them are under investigation. Two other deaths from seasonal flu occurred in Cacul? and Urandi.

Of the confirmed cases, 51.6% are male. The mean age was 22 years, ranging from nine months to 79 years. Most of the confirmed cases, 66.3% is of residents in Salvador, accounting for 124 cases.

19,684 cases were confirmed by laboratory tests and clinical criteria, and 264 had complications and died. Other 5487 cases were negative. The deaths occurred between 14 July and 04 October and are distributed by sex and age group: 56% were women and 44% men.

The age, 60.2% of deaths occurred in people who were between 20 and 49 years, 20.5% between 50 and 59 years and 9.5% between 5 and 19 years.

The regions with the highest number of confirmed cases are Curitiba and region (7123), Pato Branco (1954), Calabar (1778), Cornelio Procopio (1501), and Francisco Beltr?o (1755). Since the regions with the highest number of deaths are Curitiba and region (84), Cascavel (21), Maring? (19), Foz do Igua?u (18), Londrina (13), Jacarezinho (13), Campo Mour?o (13) and Toledo (12).

Until yesterday were reported in the Surveillance State 979 new cases of bird flu spread in 57 municipalities. Also according to the report, 483 cases were discarded and 184 others are still under investigation by the Epidemiological Surveillance.

The number of confirmed deaths from flu fever rose to 17 in Mato Grosso, said on Thursday the State Department of Health (SES). The report of SES shows that 96 people had confirmed the disease in the state.


The municipalities where deaths are: Barra do Gar?as (two cases), Nobres (a), V?rzea Grande (two), Diamantino (a), Rondon?polis (seven), Primavera do Leste (a), Sorriso (a), Campo Novo dos Parecis (a), Cuiab? (a) and Paranatinga (a).

As the final statement, released on September 16 by the Ministry of Health, had been 899 recorded deaths from influenza.

Three new deaths caused by influenza A H1N1 and 498 cases were confirmed in the Paran? State Secretariat of Health (SESA) on Thursday (15). The state has 20,182 new cases of confirmed influenza, according to the 68th Epidemiological Bulletin.

The new deaths were recorded in the regional healthcare of Ponta Grossa, Foz do Igua?u and Apucarana. Thus, the total number of deaths in the state because of the flu reached 267.

The regional health authorities with the highest number of deaths are Curitiba (84 deaths), Calabar (21), Maring? (19), Foz do Igua?u (19), Londrina (13), Jacarezinho (13) and Campo Mourao (13).

With regard to the number of confirmed cases, the regional health authorities with more records are Curitiba (7384), Pato Branco (1,984 cases), Francisco Beltr?o (1796), Calabar (1779) and Cornelio Procopio (1502). In addition, 698 of the 20,182 people who contracted the influenza A H1N1 in the state were women.

According to data from Sesa, 57% (152) of victims were female and 43% (115) male.

Of the 267 deaths caused by influenza A in the state, 162 were recorded in adults aged between 20 and 49 years, representing 60.7% of all deaths. Among adults ages 50 to 59 years there were 54 deaths (20.2%). Already in the age group of children and adolescents (0 to 19 years) were 36 deaths (13.5%). In addition, there were 15 deaths among those aged 60 years or more (5.6%).
