Health confirms 13th death from bird flu in new Campinas
A 46-year-old was hospitalized since August in a public hospital

The Municipal Secretariat of Health of Campinas confirmed the 13th death caused by new flu in the city and 45 in the region. His wife of 46 years, morbid obesity and had been hospitalized since August in a public hospital. In the region of Campinas there have been 534 new cases of influenza.

Engenheiro Coelho, the region of Campinas, confirmed Friday the first case of the disease in the city. The resident has been medicated and well.

On Thursday (10), the Secretary of Health of Campinas reported that the number of new cases of influenza in the city had reduced in recent days, dropping from five days in July to one in September. Since early September, no cases of death by disease had been registered in the city.

Sao Paulo and the southern states have more than 29 deaths for 'swine flu'

The health departments of Rio Grande do Sul, Paran?, S?o Paulo and Campinas, in Sao Paulo, announced on Friday new 29 deaths "swine flu" (renamed the influenza A H1N1 WHO). Moreover, in Minas Gerais, the Health Department recorded a total of 49 fatalities resulting from the new flu.

Minas Gerais

The Health Secretariat of Minas Gerais, announced on Friday a total of 49 deaths due to the "swine flu" in the state.

Of the fatalities, two occurred in Pernambuco and another two in Sao Paulo, but were recorded in Ontario because these are all victims residing in the State of Minas Gerais.

The department also reports that were discarded by this Friday, 28 deaths from Influenza A H1N1 in the entire state.

The latest victim was a woman of 46 years who died on September 4. She was hospitalized from August 24 at a hospital in public health and his case has been confirmed as Influenza A infection with H1N1 on 31 August. According to the secretary, she had the disease earlier included in the risk group of people most likely to develop serious and lead to death.

Dies the 13th victim of swine flu in Campinas

The Department of Health of Campinas confirmed on Friday (11) the 13th death in the city contaminated by the influenza virus A (H1N1). This is a woman of 46 years who died in the last 4 days. She was hospitalized from August 24 at a hospital in public health and the case was confirmed as influenza A infection on August 31. She had a previous illness that included in the risk group of people most likely to develop serious and lead to death.

According to the secretary, the number of cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in Campinas decreased. The last week of July until the first week of August the average record was five cases of influenza A day in the city. The first week of August until this Friday, the average fell to a daily event. The council confirmed 184 cases of the disease, of which 13 were related to pregnant women. One of them was pregnant with twins and died. The babies survived.

The national council also said it is discarded suspected outbreak of influenza A in a day care center of the city. The possibility was raised after identification of an outbreak of flu-like illness, in which 20 people became ill - 16 children and four adults. Surveys done by the Adolfo Lutz ruled out contamination by influenza A. Lessons in the unit, suspended from the day 3, were taken on Friday. The department has so far six outbreaks of the disease in the municipality. The outbreak is classified when more than one case occurs in the same rendezvous.

18 year old is a victim of the fatal H1N1 in MT

A 18-year-old resident of Eldorado in V?rzea Grande, is the fourth fatality from the swine flu in Mato Grosso. She died on August 30 after feeling ill and take a medication at home. The family arrived to take her to the Emergency Municipal V?rzea Grande, where he died. Examination confirmed the infection with influenza A (H1N1) arrived yesterday to the Municipal Health

Rio - The number of deaths from swine flu in the State of Rio de Janeiro rose to 78 on Monday. SAO PAULO - The Secretariat of Health of Paran? confirmed on the afternoon of Monday, six new deaths from the H1N1 flu in the state. With the new deaths brings to 226 the toll from a new flu. For technical problems, the number of people infected by the H1N1 virus has not been updated, remaining in 8236.

The last six confirmed deaths, two occurred in the regional health of Curitiba, and the other in Guarapuava, Campo Mour?o, Umuarama and Ivaipor?. The metropolitan region accounted for 34% of all deaths in the state, are 77 in total. Following appear the regional Cascavel (20), Foz do Igua?u (18), Maring? (15) and Toledo (11).

Two more deaths caused by influenza A (H1N1) in Pernambuco were confirmed by the State Department of Health (SES) on Monday (14). The new deaths were a woman of 50 years, residing in Caruaru, who was a student at Valley College Ipojuca (Favip) and a military policeman of 27 years.

Confirmations were made from analysis conducted by the Instituto Evandro Chagas, Par?, who arrived on Monday (14). The two were the most common symptoms of the new flu such as fever, cough, dyspnoea, which is difficulty in breathing, and body aches.

The policeman of PM died on August 28 at the Hospital of the Military Police, with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Already a student died on September 3, with a picture of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), Hospital Santa Iphigenia in Caruaru.

City records the 4th death from swine flu (SP)
Wife of 44 years is new victim, 48 expected test result

The Municipal Health announced yesterday afternoon the fourth death as a result of swine flu in Marilia.

(Deceased?) from Jardim Am?rica, his wife of 44 years was admitted to the Clinical Hospital since the day 3 and died Saturday. In addition to purchasing the new flu, the victim suffered from immune thrombocytopenic hardly reduces the production of platelets in the blood.

Deaths due to swine flu in Goi?s rises to 25

There are now 25 cases of deaths caused by swine influenza (influenza A) in the entire state of Goias, second report released today by the State Board Crisis Influenza A. Admissions for influenza increased by 16.97% this year, but deaths follow a linear trend


Since the emergence of influenza A (H1N1), the State Department of Health (SES) reported 146 suspected cases of influenza in 20 municipalities of Para?ba. Of these, 93 had completed investigation and 20 were confirmed for influenza, and 18 for the H1N1 virus and two of the common flu. So far, 73 suspects were discarded and 53 are being investigated. The last influenza epidemiological bulletin published by the SES, Tuesday (15), shows that there was an increase of 16.97% in the number of admissions for influenza (all types), this year, the state, but despite the pandemic influenza A, the mortality of the disease remains a linear trend.

"The still preliminary analysis of the mortality curve of influenza and pneumonia, we concluded that despite the pandemic influenza A (H1N1) in 2009, mortality from pneumonia and influenza remained the same behavior from previous years. The average mortality rate in the period 2006 to 2009 was 0.11 deaths per thousand, while a linear trend, "said the manager of Rapid Response SES, Diana Pinto.

According to the bulletin, were 9533 admissions from January to July 2008 and in the same period this year 11,151 people were hospitalized from flu and pneumonia. Until July this year, there have been 285 deaths from influenza and pneumonia. In the same period last year were 292 deaths. "The peaks of mortality in the months of April, May and June, corresponding to the winter months, also with higher incidences of the disease," he said.

Epidemiologist attributed the increase in admissions, employment monitoring, recommended by the Ministry of Health, with the new flu. Reduction of Influenza A: According to the manager's Rapid Response SES, Diana Pinto, in relation to influenza A (H1N1), showed a peak of 32 reported cases in epidemiological week (from 9 to August 15) and from hence a downward trend, week by week. Partial data show that the 36th epidemiological week, which ended on 12, had 10 notifications.
The suspected cases were reported in the municipalities of Jo?o Pessoa (94 cases), Campina Grande (15), Cabedelo (9), Bayeux (5), Coxixola (2), Ducks (2), Santa Rita (2), Bonito de Santa Faith (1), Grass (1), Catol? do Rocha (1), Congo (1), Fagundes (1), Guarabira (1), Itatuba (1), Laguna Seca (1), Mamanguape (1), stones Fire (1), Pocinhos (1), St. Benedict (1) and Tavares (1). Four cases have been reported in people from other states visiting the Para?ba.

Confirmed - According to the report, the new confirmed cases of flu are spread across six cities in the state, and 77.7% (14 out of 18) occurred in counties of the metropolitan area: S?o Paulo (with 11 confirmations) and Cabedelo (3) . The other cases were confirmed in Campina Grande, Tavares, and Coxixola Guarabira, each municipality with a confirmation. The probable location of infection, 50% of confirmed cases are indigenous, the rest are imported cases contracted in other countries or states of the Federation.

Two cases resulted in death. So far, in Para?ba, the mortality rate by the new pandemic virus is 0.05 deaths for every 100 inhabitants, while Brazil had 0.34 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants. Since the beginning of the new flu, SES maintains a toll-free telephone information for the population (0800 281 0023) and a mobile phone that is primarily for tending the health professionals and registration notifications (83 8862 2444).

Minas Gerais confirms a further 16 new deaths from bird flu

Total state reaches 65.
State has 2217 suspected cases and 364 confirmed the disease.

The Government of Minas Gerais confirmed on Wednesday (16), plus 16 new deaths from flu. Of the 65 deaths recorded to date, 61 occurred in the state. The other four deaths occurred in Pernambuco and Sao Paulo, but are counted in Minas Gerais since the state considers the place of residence of the victim.

The victims, according to the Department, there are eight women, between 26 and 54 years, seven men, between 24 and 53 years, and a boy of 12 years.

Minas Gerais so far 2217 suspected cases and 364 new confirmed cases of influenza.

Bahia has four confirmed deaths by new influenza (H1N1)

The state of Bahia accounts now 4 confirmed deaths by new influenza (H1N1) of the total of 148 cases. The deaths were in Salvador, Guanambi, Urandi and Cacul?. The information was released on Wednesday (16) of the Health Department of the State of Bahia (Sesab).

From April 24 to 16 September this year, were considered as 813 suspected cases, 148 confirmed and 473 of them are under investigation. Two other deaths from seasonal flu occurred in Cacul? and Urandi.

Of the confirmed cases, 50% are female. The mean age was 22 years, ranging from nine months to 77 years. Most of the confirmed cases, 74.3% is of residents in Salvador, accounting for 110 cases.

Rio Grande do Sul confirms 3 more deaths from swine flu

PORTO ALEGRE - Rio Grande do Sul, registers more than three deaths from flu. So far, 178 people died in the state as a result of influenza A. The state secretary of Health, Osmar Terra, says that despite the numbers, the epidemic is declining. He said that 75% of people who died in ICUs by flu-like syndromes in the last three months in Rio Grande do Sul had influenza A.

SAO PAULO - Health authorities confirmed Wednesday the death of a teenager 15 years by the new flu in Americana, and 124 kilometers from Sao Paulo. According to doctors, she had no other health problems. This was the fourth fatality in the city. Throughout the region of Campinas are 48 deaths. So far, 571 people had the disease diagnosed in the towns.

The city of Santa Barbara d'Oeste reported two more deaths from flu. With the two new diagnoses the number of cases of deaths in the city rose to four.

The industry also points to two new confirmed cases of the disease, and a girl of 11 years and a man of 35 years of age.

For patients who died, it is a 30 year old resident of Residential Furlan, and a boy of 26 years, the plateau of the Sun

Five patients are being monitored at home and four others hospitalized following the Holy House of Mercy - Hospital Santa Barbara. According to the Health Department of the city, eight cases are awaiting test results.
