S?O PAULO - A pregnant woman of 8 months died of swine flu in Araraquara, 272 kilometers from the capital Sao Paulo. She was hospitalized in Ibitinga, where he lived, and then transferred to the Portuguese Benefic?ncia Hospital in Araraquara. The number of victims of influenza A in S?o Paulo state rose to 32 this Thursday. Two new deaths were confirmed by the health services of Araraquara and Sumar?, municipalities of S?o Paulo.

In Araraquara, 273 km from the capital, a pregnant woman of 38 years eight months pregnant died on July 23. According to the secretary of health of the municipality, the baby did not resist.

SP confirms another death of a pregnant swine flu

The Municipal Health Department of Jacarei confirmed Friday that a patient who died in Alvorada Hospital was contaminated by the virus of swine influenza. The victim, a woman of 37 years who was pregnant with twins, died on July 22, after being hospitalized on 17 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with symptoms of pneumonia.

According to the latest balance sheet of the State Department of Health, released today, there are 37 killed by influenza in S?o Paulo, but the cities where the victims lived and the date of their deaths was not specified. According to the Ministry of Health, 56 are dead in the country until the morning of Thursday. But adding to the reports released by each state, comes to 76 the number of deaths in the country, and other 25 in Rio Grande do Sul, nine in Rio de Janeiro, Paran? and one in four in Para?ba.

On the day following the death, the Health Surveillance of Jacarei requested the medical records of patients. Material was collected for examinations, sent to the Adolfo Lutz Institute in Sao Paulo, and the first results were negative.

Two other suspected cases still awaiting results of tests.

Brazil Teenager With Flu Dies in Flight From U.S., Globo Says

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- A 15-year-old Brazilian girl who died on a flight yesterday to Sao Paulo from the U.S. was taking Tamiflu, the antiviral drug used to treat swine flu, O Globo reported.

The teenager?s aunt said the girl was healthy when she traveled to the U.S. two weeks ago to visit Disneyworld and fell ill on July 29, the Rio de Janeiro-based newspaper reported. She visited a hospital in Orlando and was given Tamiflu, which can be prescribed for the swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus, O Globo said.

Doctors traveling on the same flight tried to revive the girl after her heart and breathing had stopped, O Globo said.

Swine flu: Pernambuco and Bahia confirms first deaths

RECIFE, SALVADOR, S?O PAULO - The states of Pernambuco and Bahia recorded the first swine flu deaths. With them, increased to three the number of fatal victims of the disease in the Northeast. The first death occurred in Jo?o Pessoa, and student of 31 years have been infected in Brasilia.
