Another H5N1 Human Infection case in less than 72 hours


This is not good.
The ministry of health has announced today that year and half Manar Ibrahim Zidan is No.66 in the H5N1 human infection roll in Egypt. This is so fast , it is less than 48 hours from the announcement of Case No.65 !!
Baby Manar is from a village in Kafr El-Sheikh ,Delta, there were several case from Kafr El-Sheikh this year, I recall case No.64 Mrs. Sadia is from Kafr El-Sheikh too . I hope someone will make a map like the one posted last year with the infections locations and compared it with last year?s map. I think Al-Fayoum,Bahaira and Kafr El-Sheikh are the top governorates with the highest H5N1 infection rate.
It seems that we are going to back to babies with H5N1 after all. Anyhow Manar has entered the hospital on the 15th of April and she was given Tamflu and thank God her condition is stable .

But don't most of the names refer to parents and grandparents, so there is a given name(s) followed by a sequence of names representing parents and grandparents, and listed in a particular order (which can be a series of first names, so the toddler would have a given name followed by family names). I just wasn't sure if these could be male or female, etc. i.e. Zidane Manar Ibrahim Saad would be Zidane Manar daughter of Ibrahim and Saad. The Saad would refer to the first name of the mother, Saadia Mohamed Abdel Latif (and family names would only be in masculine form, so Saadia would be converted to Saad in the family name part of the toddler's name, which is why the mother's name includes Mohamed).

Her symptoms began on 7 April and she was hospitalized at Kfr El Sheikh Fever Hospital on 15 April where she was started on oseltamivir the same day (15 April). She is in a critical condition.

The Egyptian blogger called Saadia ....Latif "Mrs. Saadia" as though that was the equivalent of her last name, regardless of where it appears in the name Saadia Mohamed Abdel Latif as reported in the news.

The Directorate girl Manar Saad Ibrahim Zidan (18 months) from the village of Chaabas Amir Kulain confirmed the status of her disease, and that they receive hospital treatment, the capital Cairo, starting from this afternoon.

Kulain covers about 161 sq kilometers and as of 2003 had a population of 197,773.
