The Saints issued a statement Friday confirming Payton's diagnosis:

"Today, Saints Head Coach Sean Payton tested positive for Covid-19 and was immediately isolated. He has been fully vaccinated.

Payton missed Wednesday's practices and team meetings with an illness, but he had not yet tested positive. He conducted all his usual work virtually from home as defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen handled the team's meetings.

He returned to work in his usual capacity Thursday. It is not yet clear when Payton submitted a positive test.

This is the second time Payton has contracted COVID. He was one of the first people in the NFL to test positive back in March of last year. Payton said at the time he endured mild symptoms, including chills, aches and a low-grade fever.

The list keeps growing… to my friends in healthcare, best of luck. To everyone else, if you feel sick it’s probably #COVID19, skip the holiday plans. Yes, testing is limited but pls don’t come to the ED just purely for testing, we are swamped.

That covers a lot of ground. Was COVID the reason they are in the ER? When details are omitted from data and the wrap is a vaccine commercial...

Another important clinical issue is whether SSRIs are continued or discontinued when a COVID-19 patient is hospitalized or admitted to an ICU. SSRIs are frequently discontinued in the ICU patient [42,43]. There is literature showing that discontinuation results in adverse ICU outcomes [42,43]. SSRIs are often inadvertently discontinued because they are not considered important in acute disease. This can cause increased agitation among these patients and need for additional sedation, which may in turn depress respiration.

Then we heard that the common cold often does. Cold viruses are infective on hands for hours
(flu only 5min)

But there are many different common cold viruses. Hand hygiene seems to be less important for
coronaviruses or at least sarbecoviruses or at least SARS2
Despite WHO's handwashing campaign.

Hand washing, vaccines, social distancing, and talk are all cheap so they are the perfect things for elected people to promote.
