The last confirmed case of dengue fever in Townsville was in mid December.
Townsville City Council has stopped inspecting houses for dengue-mosquito breeding sites because there have been no new cases.
The last confirmed case of dengue fever was in mid-December.
Councillor Dale Last says the last inspections were just before Christmas.
"If we get another reported case of dengue then we'll certainly be out on the ground running," he said.
"But it is extremely resource intensive door-knocking houses in a particular area, and as a consequence unless we have a reported case, there's not a lot of point in going out and just randomly inspecting houses."
