Ministry of Public Health: Cuba reports nine cases of COVID-19 for a cumulative of 2,597 in the country

At the close of yesterday, July 29, 406 patients were admitted to hospitals for epidemiological clinical surveillance. Another 3,346 are monitored in primary health care.
For COVID-19, 3,455 samples were studied, resulting in nine positive samples. The country accumulates 260 thousand 451 samples made and 2,597 positive (1%). Therefore, at the close of yesterday, nine new cases were confirmed, with a cumulative of 2,597 in the country.
The nine diagnosed cases are Cuban. Of these, six (66.6%) were confirmed case contact and three (33.3%) had a source of infection abroad.
Of the nine confirmed cases, six (66.6%) women and three (33.3%) men. The affected age groups were: 41 to 59 years old with four cases (44.4%), under 20 years old and 20 to 40 years old with two (22.2%) each and over 60 years old with one (11.1%). 88.8% (8) of the diagnosed cases were asymptomatic.

Havana
22-year-old Cuban citizen. She resides in the municipality of Habana del Este, province of Havana. Confirmed case contact. 23 contacts are kept under surveillance.
74-year-old Cuban citizen. She resides in La Lisa municipality, Havana province. Contact of previously confirmed cases. 17 contacts are kept under surveillance.
47-year-old Cuban citizen. He resides in the municipality of Habana del Este, province of Havana. Previously confirmed case contact. 12 contacts are kept under surveillance.
36-year-old Cuban citizen. She resides in the Guanabacoa municipality, Havana province. Previously confirmed case contact related to the Bauta event. 40 contacts are kept under surveillance.
10-year-old Cuban citizen. She resides in the Guanabacoa municipality, Havana province. Previously confirmed case contact related to the Bauta event. 26 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Cuban citizen of 50 years of age. She resides in the municipality of San Miguel del Padr?n, province of Havana. Traveler from Venezuela. 225 contacts are kept under surveillance.
50-year-old Cuban citizen. He lives in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality, Havana province. Traveler from the Bahamas. 10 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Cuban citizen of 54 years of age. She resides in the Boyeros municipality, Havana province. Traveler from Venezuela. 225 contacts are kept under surveillance.
18-year-old Cuban citizen. He resides in La Lisa municipality, Havana province. Contact of confirmed cases. 10 contacts are kept under surveillance.

Critically ill patient
67-year-old Cuban citizen. It comes from the Camag?ey province. Personal Pathological Background. Arterial Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus and Obesity. It presents cough and light polypnea. Pathological chest radiography was performed and she was admitted to Intermediate Care. Clinical, radiological and gasometric worsening were observed, with distal cyanosis and desaturation appearing. She moves to Intensive Therapy. She is afebrile, on mechanical ventilation, with moderate respiratory distress. Hemodynamically stable. Gasometry with moderate hypoxemia. Rx thorax. Radiological improvement, inflammatory lesions in the left base. Reported in stable critical condition.
Until July 29, 185 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, amounting to 16 million 709 thousand 616 confirmed cases (+ 243 thousand 909) and 660 thousand 130 deaths (+ 6 thousand 268) for a lethality of 3.95 (-0.02).
