20 new cases of coronavirus in Cuba: total 1389

At the close of this Sunday, April 26, the Cuban health authorities confirmed 20 more cases of coronavirus on the island, for a total of 1,389 infected.
3 thousand 546 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 5 thousand 556 people are watched in their homes, from the Primary Health Care.
For COVID-19, 1823 samples were studied, resulting in 20 positive samples.
The 20 new confirmed cases were Cuban. Of these, 19 (95%) were contacts of confirmed cases and 1 (5%) did not specify the source of infection.
Of the 20 diagnosed cases, 9 (45%) were female and 11 (55%) male. The most affected age groups were: under 40 with 10 cases (50.0%), followed by the 40 to 60 year group with 9 cases (45%). 65% (13) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
Provinces
- Pinar del R?o: 2 (from the Guane municipality)
- Havana: 14 (4 from the municipality of San Miguel del Padr?n; 3 from Diez de Octubre; 2 from Centro Habana; La Lisa, Cotorro, Habana Vieja, Boyeros and Cerro with 1 each)
- Matanzas: 3 (from the C?rdenas municipality)
- Cienfuegos: 1 (from the Cienfuegos municipality)
A total of 56 people have died to date from COVID-19: one Italian, one Russian and 54 Cubans.
Since March 24, all people arriving in the country have been admitted for 14 days in surveillance centers created for this purpose. If in this time, they present respiratory symptoms, then they are referred to the hospitals and isolation centers, designated for these cases.
The Havana regime confirmed on March 11 the first positive cases of coronavirus infection in Cuba with three tourists visiting the island, as reported by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
On March 31, the Prime Minister of the Cuban regime, Manuel Marrero, announced the total suspension of flights to the Island, which means that neither Cubans and resident foreigners will be able to enter the country.
"The advance of the pandemic has led us to assess the situation at airports. The decision has been made to suspend all passenger flights to Cuba. We need to eliminate the arrival of passengers, which continues to be a risk to people's health" added the hierarch.
The Cuban regime also announced that the "limited indigenous transmission" phase has been established, after confirming cases of infected persons who are not connected with travelers from abroad.
Globally, more than three million cases have been confirmed, with 207,000 deaths and 888,000 people recovered. The World Health Organization reports 210 countries with transmission.
