A total of 8 positive influenza test reports have been received including: 2 Type A (subtypes unspecified) and 6 influenza B viruses. These 8 positive influenza reports were identified in individuals residing in 5 of Connecticut?s 8 counties including: Fairfield (4), Middlesex (1), New Haven (1), New
London (1) and Tolland (1).

Of the patients with confirmed influenza infections, 7 were hospitalized and include: 1 with Type A (subtypes unspecified) and 6 with Type B influenza.

No fatal influenza-associated infections have been reported.
