[FONT=&#20223] February 2015 (at 0:00 on February 1, 2015 to February 28 24), the country (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the same below) reported a total of 338,939 cases of notifiable infectious diseases, 855 people died. Among them, the CPI no infectious disease, deaths have been reported. B infectious diseases infectious atypical pneumonia, polio and diphtheria morbidity, mortality report, the remaining 23 kinds of infectious diseases incidence of 221,007 cases were reported, 849 people died. Before the reported incidence of five diseases were viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, bacillary and amoebic dysentery, accounting for 93% of the total cases of class B infectious diseases. The same period, the country reported a total of 117,932 cases of class C infectious diseases incidence of death six people. Among them, filariasis morbidity, mortality report, the number of reported incidence of the former three diseases were other infectious diarrhea, hand-foot-mouth disease and influenza accounted for 89% of the total reported cases of class C infectious diseases.

We have most of these cases, if not all, on our case list here. I will update this thread later today after I quantify the exact numbers.

The cases below total 81 cases with onset dates for February. ALL of these cases are taken from various municipal and provincial health departments in China, including the Hong Kong Center for Health Protection. NONE of the cases below are sourced solely from media reports.

I think there may be some overlap into January cases with case numbers 632-643 as the Hong Kong CHP time frame for that report is the 5 weeks prior to February 25 - which could back track a few cases into January. A couple of the onset dates in early February case might lapse back into January

In general the numbers announced today by the China Ministry of Health and Family Planning do not add up to the separate municipal and province health department figures for February 2015. I know that in the US the CDC numbers lag behind the various state health departments by as much as 2 - 4 weeks. Perhaps this is the case here and the "extra" 22 cases will be picked up in the March report.

Human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus – China

On 9 March 2015, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of China notified WHO of 59 additional laboratory-confirmed cases of human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus, including 17 fatal cases. Onset dates ranged from 21 January to 25 February 2015. Below is a breakdown of the 59 cases included in this notification by epidemiological week of symptom onset:

• Week 4 (19 – 25 January) 5 cases
• Week 5 (26 January – 1 February) 13 cases
• Week 6 (2 – 8 February) 9 cases
• Week 7 (9 – 15 February) 15 cases
• Week 8 (16 – 22 February) 14 cases
• Week 9 (24 – 25 February) 3 cases

Of these 59 cases, 44 (75%) were male. The majority (49 cases, 83%) reported exposure to live poultry or live poultry markets; the exposure history of six cases is unknown or unavailable. Three family clusters were reported, each comprised of two cases; four of the six cases had exposure to live poultry or live poultry markets, one case had no exposure to poultry, and one case is still under investigation. Cases were reported from nine provinces: Anhui (4), Fujian (1), Guangdong (35), Guizhou (1), Hunan (2), Jiangsu (3), Jiangxi (1), Shanghai (1), and Zhejiang (11).
