Record number of new cases: 83 new infections confirmed in Cape Verde

Of the 83 cases confirmed today, Praia has 42, Santa Catarina ten, Santa Cruz four, S?o Miguel one, S?o Domingos one, S?o Salvador do Mundo five and Sal 20.
Cape Verde recorded 83 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health and Social Security informs that these results are from the samples processed in the two laboratories, in Praia and S?o Vicente, on the 2nd.
Of the 318 samples examined, 83 new confirmed cases and 214 negative ones emerged, 21 of which were from patients in follow-up without changes.
The same source indicates that 11 control tests were carried out on patients being followed up on Ilha do Sal, whose results remained positive.
With the updated data, the country now counts 1384 accumulated positive cases, 643 recovered and 15 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Social Security reinforces the call for people to stay at home and take appropriate care to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Worldwide, the new coronavirus pandemic has already killed at least 521,384 people and infected more than 10.8 million, according to an AFP agency report based on official data.
