For several days the situation on the Covid-19 in Burkina seems to be improving. The point on June 7, 2020 resembles that of the previous day.

Out of 128 samples analyzed, 01 new confirmed cases, 03 cures and 00 deaths were recorded on this date of June 7. According to the government point, the new confirmed case is an imported case and is currently confined to Ouagadougou.

The overall assessment goes to 891 confirmed cases since March 9, 2020, including 778 cures and 53 deaths.

The number of active cases is 60.

Burkina Faso is moving towards the eradication of coronavirus disease in light of the results recorded in recent weeks.

As of June 12, 2020, Burkina Faso has recorded zero confirmed cases out of 105 samples with 8 cures and zero deaths. This brings a total of 892 confirmed cases since March 9, 2020, distributed between 323 women and 569 men with 799 cures out of a total sample of 9,088 people tested.

The Center region remains the most affected with 752 cases, followed by the Hauts-Bassins with 69 cumulative cases, the Boucle du Mouhoun 23 cases, the Sahel with 19 cases, the Central Plateau with 9 cases, the Cascades 4 cases, the Center -North 3 cases, the South Center 2 cases, and the Southwest 1 case.

According to Dr Brice Bicaba, health sector coordinator for the response to the coronavirus epidemic, "the Central region is the only active region with 40 cases. All the other homes have gone out. "

According to him, for 4 successive weeks, the cases continue to decrease. “3 weeks ago, we have 39 cumulative cases. The week that followed, we had 6 cumulative cases and this week 2 cumulative cases, ”he says.

For the coming weeks, Dr. Bicaba says that voluntary screening will be open to anyone wishing to be screened in the CSPS of Bogodogo, Pogbi, the Sig-nonguin and Kossodo Medical Center.

He adds that the strengthening of sentinel surveillance of respiratory infections in the Kongoussi, Bouss?, Hound?, Bogodogo sites, the CSPS of Bolomakot? and Colsama will be effective.

It should be noted that Africa remains the 4th most affected continent with 216,622 cases with 5,832 deaths. In West Africa, C?te d'Ivoire has 4,400 cases, Ghana 10,358 cases, Niger 974 cases, Mali 1,722 cases, Togo 524 cases and Benin 305 cases.

Burkina Faso is on the brink of overcoming the Coronavirus pandemic. As the days go by, the numbers give hope.

As of June 14, 2020, the country has registered one confirmed case out of 45 analyzes carried out. According to the Government Information Service, this is an imported case.

Covid-19 in Burkina: Four new cases including one imported to Nouna on June 20, 2020

Burkina Faso has registered, as of June 20, 2020, four new confirmed cases of Covid-19 bringing to 907 the total number of persons tested positive since March 9.

Among these cases, there are two imported cases including one in Ouagadougou and one in Nouna and two cases of community transmission identified in Ouagadougou and in the rural commune of Tanghin-Dassouri. It should be remembered that the Boucle du Mouhoun region, which includes the city of Nouna, had registered its last negative case on June 4.

Should we fear a resurgence of the disease in this region? Vigilance must be required but in the meantime the country records four new healings bringing the total to 823 healings.

The number of deaths has not changed since May 24, 2020. There are still 53. There are 31 patients on treatment.

Note that these results were obtained after analysis of 107 samples.

A sample distributed as follows: 96 voluntary screening tests, 73 traveler tests, 37 health worker tests, 15 suspect case tests, 14 vulnerable person tests, five contact person tests and six control test.

The country records three new healings bringing the total to 833 and an active number of 68. Regarding the number of deaths, no death was recorded. The number of deaths still remains 53. The cumulative number of cases confirmed since March 9 is therefore 954 including 365 women and 619 men.

According to Dr. Brice Bicaba, the point of the disease at the global level is as follows: the American continent comes at the top of the list with more than four million confirmed cases, follows the European continent with more than two million cases , Asia also with more than two million cases and Africa in 4th position with more than 347 thousand cases.

Speaking of the most affected African countries, it is South Africa with more than 118 thousand cases, Egypt with more than 61 thousand cases, then Nigeria with more than 22 thousand cases, Ghana with more 15 thousand cases and Cameroon which comes in fifth position with almost 12 thousand cases.

For the ECOWAS countries, the first five countries most affected in terms of number, we record Nigeria in first position, Ghana in 2nd, Cote d'Ivoire in 3rd, Senegal in 4th and Guinea Conakry in 5th position. Burkina Faso comes in 12th with 954 cases and Gambia as the least affected country with 41 cases.
