Average coronavirus deaths in the last seven days in Brazil is 1,052
According to the media consortium, 770 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths by Covid-19 reaches 72,921.
07/13/2020 22h08 Updated 20 minutes ago

According to a survey of the press media consortium, updated at 8 pm, the deaths of 770 people were recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths by Covid-19 in the country reaches 72,921.

The number of new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours is 21,783, totaling 1,887,959 infected Brazilians since the beginning of the pandemic - remembering that on Mondays, the number of records is lower because of the tests and notifications that were not made on the weekend.

The moving average - which is done by adding the number of deaths in the last seven days, divided by seven - is 1,052. It remains at a high level, above a thousand deaths per day. The average considering the new cases registered day by day is 37,413.

The comparison of the pandemic situation in Brazil and the United States is facilitated by some factors: the USA is a continental and populous country like Brazil, in addition, the protection measures against the coronavirus were in charge of states and municipalities - there is no a unique orientation from the federal government. While here, the average number of new cases rose almost steadily, the United States rose rapidly from the end of March until the beginning of April, then stabilized - and even dropped - and, now in July, the average began to rise again and is already close to 60 thousand cases per day, which coincides with the resumption of activities in many states.

In relation to the average number of deaths, in Brazil there is a constant, while in the United States, in the beginning of April, there was an increase in a very high number and pace, going from more than 2 thousand deaths per day. Since then, the average number of deaths has been falling steadily, but now, in July, it had a slight increase.

There, the severity of the pandemic changes from one state to another, just as it does here. In Florida, the moving average of deaths remained practically stable and, now in July, it started to rise at a very intense pace. The situation is completely different from that of New York, which was once the epicenter of the pandemic. In April, the average number of deaths per day was over a thousand. Since then, with the lockdown that lasted more than two months, the drop in the number of deaths is quite marked.
