Birdflu Strikes South Florida (joke)

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

I think it's the polyvinylmorphism mutation. It has neutropic symptoms - they all bend their necks in the same shape. :)

Mellie; Sorry should have mentioned this in previous post, but I reckon you should have a cup of tea and a wee rest in bed.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

Wouldn't it be ironic if those somehow tested positive.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

Notice the discoloring in some of the birds. Perhaps a new symptom?!!:D

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

This has been happening for weeks. The tests have been coming back negative for H5N1 because the testing samples were not collected properly.

The symptoms have been "presenting like" chikungunya, that is why all of them are "bent" in the same way.

Several "no-go" zones have been established and all plastic flamingos have been culled (approximately 100,000).

All other plastic flamingos in Florida (approximately 10,000,000) are receiving an experimental vax from China. It does not seem to be working as new outbreaks are occurring.

Several plastic flamingo owners are quarantined for observation after showing symptoms such as standing only on 1 leg and eating only small bugs.

A cluster is suspected in Miami. Results from lab tests should be in from the Hong Kong lab later today.

Mellie - I far as I am concerned this should have been posted in Breaking.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

This is Roman in North Carolina. I just spotted two plastic fawns and an elf like creature with a lantern sprawled out in my neighbors yard. I called the police and they laughed at me. I called the WHO and they said they were on "tour", right. This is getting weird.

The day may come when we can't laugh at anything, no matter how hard we try. So we need to do it double NOW.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

Rumor has it one of the signs of infection is the inability to stand upright in a stiff wind...

AD, do you have a map of species migration patterns? I heard something about a slow boat, China and WallyWorld, but it wasnt from an authoritative source.

Oh, the dreaded double whammy!! Whats going to happpen to the economy when poultry AND lawn ornaments are shunned?

Rushing off to add multi-colored pinwheels and plywood cutouts of old ladies bending over watering the flowers to my prep list.

discoloring is due to UVB in sunlight clensing the virus seen as pigmental changes

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida

This virus shows no mercy.

Ohhh, the humanity.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida (joke)

This is picture must have been taken in North Florida, not South Florida. I was just there for a year and saw it firsthand. The horror, the horror.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida (joke)

Awhile ago when I emailed BF news to relatives far away, a step-brother in Texas responded by sendiing me that photo attached to an email saying he didn't know if the story was true or not. ... LOL!

After I stopped laughing, I didn't know whether or not to be mad at him.

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida (no joke)

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida (no joke)

It's true! I know the Fish and Wildlife guy who swabbed their butts. He was in full PPE and said it had to be a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The flamingos were as stiff as lawn ornaments but the all had the same crook in their necks suggesting they had begun to stalk in circles before keeling over!

He said the FWS guys were instructed to send the samples to Canada. Psssst, That Canada was underfunded for testing and, as a consequence, no real announcement would have to be made as to what type of avian influenza had felled such a flock; thus sparing the Florida trailer park residents who are prone to panic.

Did anyone else hear a similar kind of story? If not, what did you hear???

Re: Birdflu Strikes South Florida (joke)
