LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — UPDATE (5:03 p.m.): The Arkansas Department of Health website reports five additional cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, raising the statewide total to 409.

Two more individuals have reportedly recovered from the virus to raise the total to 26.

UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): The Arkansas Department of Health now reports 404 cases of COVID-19 in the state, up 20 cases from Friday evening. Gov Asa Hutchinson announced 2 more have died from COVID-19 in Arkansas bringing the total to 5.

Coronavirus Deaths Rise to Six, Cases to 426 in Arkansas
The number of coronavirus deaths in Arkansas has risen by one to six and the number of cases is at least 426, up from 404.

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (AP) — The number of coronavirus deaths in Arkansas has risen by one to six, the number of cases increased by 18 while the number of hospitalized virus patients fell by five, Gov. Asa Hutchinson and state Secretary of Health Dr. Nate Smith said Sunday.

“While it's too early to know for sure, we are encouraged that we are not accelerating as fast some other parts of the country,” such as New York, where the number of deaths due to the virus are nearing 1,000, Hutchinson said.

Coronavirus cases in the state rose from 404 to at least 426 and the number of hospitalizations dropped from 48 to 43, according to Smith.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — UPDATE (1:35 p.m.): Governor Asa Hutchinson announced 584 total cases and two additional deaths in Arkansas due to the coronavirus at his daily press conference on Wednesday.
