BISBEE - The Cochise County Health Department and the Arizona Department of Health Services report that Arizona has had its first Influenza-associated pediatric death.
A child in Cochise County has died of the flu, the first pediatric death from the infectious disease this season, the Arizona Department of Health Services said Wednesday.
The death came amid a growing number of flu cases statewide reported for the week ending Jan. 1. Of the 1,102 confirmed cases of flu for all ages since the Sept. 26 start of this season, 355 were reported last week.
