        Failed attempts to hack into the control panel of our server continue every single day. The server company and we monitor the situation and have installed a series of safe guards.

        Very disappointing.

          It might be a good idea to disable the ftp entry to the machine, or allow only a specified host. If you have shell access, this is possible by tcpwrappers in hosts.allow / hosts.deny.
