I have switched off the visitor messaging and the emails for "friendship" for Fla1. Everyone here is on my friendship list! Private message me anytime or send an email to ftcom@embarqmail.com

The primary reason we upgraded the vbulletin software is that this version has better security to protect the program. If there are some features that the members find problematic, we can disable them.

when you peek at someone's profile, then this is publically listed now,
so think twice before viewing profiles !

maybe for new members "friends" and "public messages" should be
set off as default, with an option and invitation to switch it on.

also tags

we have tags now, which you can add to threads so they are found
from other threads with at least one of those tags

only 5 tags are allowed per thread, can we have more ?

I turned off visitor tracking so there is no record of viewing the profiles.

As we find things that we do not like with this upgrade, I can probably adjust them easily.

can we have more than 5 tags per thread ?


2 other new features are:
(from your profile-page)

albums, you can create albums and upload pictures which anyone can see

you can create discussion groups, where others can join and discuss
topics which are not worth an entire public thread at the main forum
and where you can keep the discussion more ont-topic and
easier to find later.

Is the discussion in groups included in the (keywords-) search feature ?

no, apparantly you can't search for group-posts.
also no BB-code in the groups allowed.

I increased the tags per thread. I do not know if the discussion groups will be included in the search feature.

Being a total nono in IT, I don't know if "tags" are important for FT?

At the moment one can add by hand some tags for each thread.

I am sure software can do this: the words or the first 3 or 5 or .. words of the thread title can be transferred into tags automatically.
