Beware of the newly appeared H5N1 outbreak in Ca Mau
VOV.VN - After the outbreak of avian influenza H5N1 appeared in Khanh Binh Dong commune, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province, the specialized branches focused on zoning and stamping out the epidemic. However, due to the large area and small farming people, epidemic prevention is difficult.

Recently, Ca Mau Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health announced that the poultry of Mr. Pham Van Tong's household (in Khanh Binh Dong commune) was positive for the H5N1 avian influenza virus. Immediately after that, the authorities and local authorities destroyed all over 60 birds of this household. As reported by the local government next to Mr. Tong's house, there are many other households that raise chickens and ducks, so the risk of infection is very high.

Mr. Pham Van Bay shared: "A flock of small ducks came back a few days later, then died a few, then bought vaccines. And the big duck died after a few days of vaccination. The functional force then proceeded to destroy them all. . "

Facing the risk of H5N1 avian influenza outbreaks, the People's Committee of Khanh Binh Dong commune and other specialized branches urgently implemented the work of disinfection and disinfection, encircling the outbreak. On the other hand, to review the entire number of livestock raising households and survey the total poultry population in Khanh Binh Dong commune to vaccinate on a large scale.

Mr. Cao Van Dat, Vice Chairman of Khanh Binh Dong Commune People's Committee, said: "The forces in the commune together with the forces of the district have been vaccinated and surrounded. Currently 16 hamlets are vaccinated. more than 71,000 children, have vaccinated more than 33,000. The rest are continuing to vaccinate. "

Tran Van Thoi has the largest number of poultry flocks in Ca Mau province, about 1 million / year. It is worrying that over the past time, many livestock households have not paid attention to vaccinating poultry flocks. The majority of farmers raise small animals according to the custom of free-spreading and self-propagation at home, causing many difficulties in disease prevention and control. Functional departments recommend people to overcome these limitations to ensure safe and effective breeding./.
