  • Vietnam: A patient in Lam Dong dies of A/H1N1 flu

(VOV) ? A 71-year old patient, who resided in the central highland province of Lam Dong, has died of A/H1N1 influenza, said deputy director of the provincial General Hospital Nguyen Duc Thuan on August 19.

Earlier on August 13, the patient was admitted to hospital with pneumonia-like symptoms such as high fever and suffocation. Doctors took a sample from the patient for testing at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City. After testing positive for A/H1N1, the patient was then transferred to an isolation department for treatment. However, he passed away the same day.

Two months ago, another patient in Da Lat city was also infected with A/H1N1 flu. After nearly one month of treatment at the provincial General Hospital, he quickly recovered and was discharged from hospital.
