Health officials say that the activity level of the 2009 H1N1 flu virus remains low in Kansas. However, it continues to circulate and is still a threat.
Another Kansan dies from the H1N1 flu.
According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, a 71-year-old woman from northeast Kansas has died from infection with the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus. The woman's infection was confirmed in the KDHE laboratory on March 19, and her death reported to KDHE on March 30.
The woman had underlying health conditions that placed her at greater risk for severe complications of influenza.
