Department of Public Health reports 29 new swine flu cases

Swine flu has been confirmed in an additional 29 residents, the state Department of Public Health reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 141.
One Connecticut resident has been hospitalized with the virus, state health officials said. The patient has been discharged and has fully recovered.
The new cases of swine flu, also called novel influenza A (H1N1), were found among residents of Bridgeport, Granby, Greenwich, Manchester, New Haven, Norwalk, Prospect, Ridgefield, South Windsor, Southport, Stamford, Waterbury, Westport and Wilton. Overall, Fairfield County has seen the most number of cases, with 99 reported.
There have been 6,764 cases of H1N1 in the United States thus far, and 12,954 worldwide, including 92 deaths, according to the World Health Organization.
