Tuberculosis case confirmed at Parkville High School
On Friday, the county sent a letter to about 60 people, explaining tuberculosis and urging them to get screened by their doctor or at an upcoming clinic. Anyone who doesn't get the letter doesn't need to get tested, health officials said.
Health officials said they are contacting the second ring of people who may have had contact with the person, saying the inner ring of people -- family members -- all tested negative for tuberculosis.
The Baltimore County Department of Health has scheduled a free walk-in clinic on Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at Parkville High School. Health officials will administer a blood test to those identified as a potential contact to determine if they have been infected with tuberculosis.
